Sad to hear that the actor in A Hard Day’s Night , Help ! and Magical Mystery Tour has passed away.
RIP
I think it's great you're going through a phase, and I'm awfully glad it'll all be over in a couple of days

I heard about this before the BBC reported it. He died here in Wales.

Yes. And he played bigger roles than Mal.
I was just phoned up by a BBC journalist I know. “We’re writing about Victor Spinetti and we need a Beatles expert.” Great! I’m going to be quoted. “And we were wondering if you could suggest anyone.” Bah. I told them to give Richard Lester a ring.

Victor Spinetti would have loved that!
In addition, there has to be a plot joke here somewhere (I see it all now. It’s a plot…a plot.)
To me, he was the funniest non-Beatle in A Hard Day’s Night . A truly funny man who will be missed.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

According to the Welsh press, in the cancer wards and hospices he was in he’d go around telling stories to all the patients, cheering them up. He was a true performer that couldn’t stop giving. I wish I’d met him – he was being treated for a while not far from where I live (not that I’d have bothered him or anything).
This is being shown on BBC One Wales tomorrow night, and features Paul McCartney . It’ll be on iPlayer afterwards, though I’m not sure of the international availability. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0116svk

That’s very sad to hear that he’s passed away. My love to his family. He truly was a great and talented actor. He always made me laugh in The Beatles’ films. Sad that he had to leave us. He will forever hold a place in my heart.
