It looks great but i’ll wait till more details and footage are released before getting too excited. Apple have plenty of times and ways to kill any excitement. There better be complete performances and not 30 seconds of a live song before being interrupted by a talking head telling me why the performance is great. And please don’t aim it at those who have never heard of a Beatle.

A new Eight Days A Week website has just gone up, with lots of release details (see also), two-minute trailers on YouTube for various markets, and more. The UK trailer promises “30 minutes of specially remastered concert footage exclusive to cinemas”, which I haven’t seen mentioned elsewhere yet. If you saw the Beatles live you can watch the film for free in the cinema in the US, if you still have your ticket to prove it. With the emphasis on the cinematic release it looks like they’re really trying to stoke the embers of Beatlemania (and direct people to the more profitable venue of course). US streaming will be a Hulu exclusive, and starts on 17 September. The theatrical release is 15 September in the UK, France and Germany, the 16th in the US, Australia and NZ, and the 22nd in Japan.
On 9 September a new Hollywood Bowl live album is being released: apparently the audio has been improved through both newly-discovered recordings and improved technology, and four new songs have been added to the album.

It looks really interesting.
Questions
- Has the Washington Colliseum concert been colourised or is the same source that was used in the Anthology series?
- Has the Kennedy Airport footage been colourised or is this genuine unseen colour footage (i’ve never seen it before and it looks off), same for the ‘Blackpool Night Out’ footage?
- If the 30 minutes of footage is exclusive to cinemas does that it wont be on any home release – or will they get around that by making it 31 minutes and 2 seconds?
- Where is George’s quote (“there’s some little magic chemistry that happened between us that seems to appeal to each generation that comes up“) from? I love that.
- Why is ‘A Day In The Life ‘ heard when the period covered is up to 1966?
I’ll be hoping to get my cinema ticket; I went to see reissues of ‘A Hard Day’s Night ‘, ‘Magical Mystery Tour ‘, ‘Yellow Submarine ‘ and ‘Living In The Material World ‘.

I’M GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll be there at about 1:30pm in my seat* waiting for it to come on. Absolutely no idea how I am going to sit thru it without getting too carried away, I love watching the Beatles in the cinema.
*Turns out doors open at 6pm, film starts at 7pm. I may have exploded by then – or my seat and the aisle very very wet.

From the official website
The Beatles played Shea Stadium on August 15th 1965 in what was to be the first rock concert ever staged in a stadium in front of more than 55,000 people. The event was filmed using fourteen 35mm cameras by Ed Sullivan Productions and Brian Epstein and for the very first time, the fully restored, remastered, 30-minute performance will be available to screen as part of the worldwide theatrical release of Academy Award®-winner Ron Howard’s authorized documentary feature film, The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years.
Only available in theatres, the 4K restoration with sound remastered at Abbey Road Studios by Giles Martin and Sam Okell, includes performances of the classic songs such as “A Hard Day’s Night,” “I’m Down,” “Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby” and “Dizzy Miss Lizzy .”…
…
Shea Stadium Set list
Twist And Shout
She’s a Woman
I Feel Fine
Dizzy Miss Lizzy
Ticket To Ride
Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby
Baby’s in Black
Act Naturally
A Hard Day’s Night
Help !
I’m Down
Strangely ‘Can’t Buy Me Love ‘ is missing (presumably an oversight); intriguingly ‘She’s A Woman ‘ and ‘Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby’ are listed, both performances missing from all film prints so far. Maybe that’s just the set list and not what we will see.

I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

What’s Gold Class?
Its a thing in Australian cinemas, it’s only just made it to my regional town. You essentially pay 3x the price for tickets so you can sit in nicer chairs and drink alcohol and eat weird food and possibly the movie’s quality is higher but that’s not how it’s sold. It’s a separate room to the general rooms (my local has about 6), here’s a link. There was an initial suggest of a season subscription, that seems to have disappeared. So they’ve effectively said to everyone, pay for our exclusive and expensive service or get lost.

I’m confused. The US release date is supposed to be September 16th. But on this page that lists the theaters and cities where it will be playing, the date is shown as the 15th. (The page has Nashville spelled Mashville.)
Looks like I will have to go on a road trip to Tulsa unless a Dallas location is announced. I would love to go see the movie with @Expert Textpert and Mrs. Textpert.

That sucks indeed. My nearest cinema isn’t playing it at all, but I’m from Sydney so there are a few cinemas nearby that are showing it (and are not Gold Class exclusive).
