That would have been amazing, and yet very useless.
It would NOT have been useless! Imagine drawing ghosts on black paper for halloween with it.

Yeah, but there’s not many more uses than that for it. I still would totally buy it.

It was a limited edition luxury pen.250$ for a “luxury” pen though? The same thing could be accomplished with white paint, a grey sharpie, and a pen from the Dollar Store.
Yeah but then it would be a fan made pen, not an official “The Beatles” Luxury Pen.

Dollar stores don’t sell nice pens. I only use uniball (preferably vision elite) and they don’t sell those at dollar stores.

I just realized that this is the “‘The Beatles: Eight Days A Week ‘ (Ron Howard movie) (The Beatles Live Project)” thread and not the “The Beatles (White Album ) Luxury Pen” thread.
Sorry for acting like a mod, I’ve just always wanted to use that smiley. My life is complete now. Thank you Beatles Bible forum.

I spent £30 on a pen and it wasn’t a luxury ‘White Album ‘ or ‘EDAW’ one.

I couldn’t see where else to put this and don’t think it’s been mentioned but there is a new special Beatles edition of Mojo to tie in with the film release. I picked up a copy and it’s very good with two free art prints http://www.mojo4music.com/2451…..d-special/

Japan has a special edit of the film which incorporates additional footage of the Beatles time there.
As for Shea
Giles Martin produced the audio, and reduced the screams using the same software as he used for the Hollywood Bowl CD.
The film itself was just of the Beatles 30 minute performance, so didn’t include the support acts. The picture and sound quality was amazing and brilliant to see on a big screen, as the shear immensity of Shea Stadium, and the occasion, really come across…
…“She’s A Woman ” was the audio over the closing titles – “Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby ” wasn’t included.
(source: wogblog)
So as expected Apple screwed up the original announcement which listed ‘Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby ‘ in the film but omitted ‘Can’t Buy Me Love ‘ from the setlist – and has now been corrected.
Original (note that the link in that post is now dead)
Only available in theatres, the 4K restoration with sound remastered at Abbey Road Studios by Giles Martin and Sam Okell, includes performances of the classic songs such as “A Hard Day’s Night,” “I’m Down,” “Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby” and “Dizzy Miss Lizzy.”…

Intereting to know if Apple have used the sweetened audio as in the original documentary or the original audio (which surfaced on bootlegs years ago).

Thanks, RN. I think you could reasonably omit the “reasonably” in your description.
I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

After the extensive search for footage and the long wait isn’t it a little disappointing that the running time of this documentary is 106 minutes? Perhaps I’m being unfair but I’m hoping it’s because they are keeping lots of footage back for the eventual dvd/bluray extras.

Most people can’t sit for a movie longer than an hour and a half.
Most people cant do anything for more than 3 minutes without looking at their phone.

No idea how the BBC can describe the video as “Giles Martin, son of The Beatles producer Sir George Martin, explains how they remixed Live at the Hollywood Bowl.” when when all he does is play two short before and after clips of ‘Long Tall Sally ‘ but its here if you want it.

Bits from a Billboard Interview
When did you all first meet?
Starr: I met Ron in the ’70s, when he was a lad and I was a lad.
Howard: He and [Who drummer] Keith Moon wandered onto the Happy Days set. I’m not kidding.
Starr: We thought we could be in it!
Howard: Everything stopped and the assistant director tried to keep rehearsal going, but [co-star] Henry Winkler and I said [to the AD], “Get the f— out of here! We’ll catch up later!” [Then to Starr and Moon]: “Anyway, how are you guys?”
Starr: Actually, we were lost.
Is there anything in the new film that you truly cannot remember?
McCartney: Quite a bit of it.
Starr: And that’s just from last week.
McCartney: One of the things was seeing yourself as The Beatles. In the end you kind of become a fan — “Bloody hell, they’re great!” Then you sit back and realize that’s you. It’s hard to take in.
What’s it like to watch from the outside versus living it?
Starr: Well, you’re looking at a movie, aren’t you? A movie of the life we led. It’s great to look at it because you can relax now. There’s a lot of life gone by and a lot of memories.
Are there plans to continue the history with other projects?
McCartney: We didn’t know this project was coming. That’s the great thing: We love that things keep happening. Once, we were going from London to Liverpool in a terrible snowstorm — you couldn’t see the road. The van skidded down the embankment, and there was no way to back up. We’re standing around, the four of us. Somebody said, “Something will happen.” That is now my mantra. Sure enough, we got a lift.
