If its not the complete broadcast before the switch then they have the video and the audio so can easily sync the two together to give the original performance, thats how its been for the most recent dvds of the concert.

I’ve got the complete unedited audio of the gig from the PA feed…no edits, no overdubs, no studio anything, and sounds quite good.
What’s the forum policy on sharing such things with the forum?

Joe is pretty easy going but you shouldnt post links to share copyright material as otherwise it runs the risk of Joe corresponding with a lawyer or two.
Posting links to other sites that have bootlegs are normally ok (Everything Beatles, T.U.B.E) as are youtube videos and other similar video locations but not direct to file-sharing sites like mega, zippeeshare, piratebay, demonoid etc.

Got it. If I did anything, I’d upload it to a file-sharing site and share the link so I’ll try to think of something else…

More info at WogBlog on the upcoming Shea Stadium bootleg, and the possibility that footage was salvaged and bought by Paul.

You’d have to think that if this rumour of Paul securing the lost footage is indeed true, the official 50th Anniversary of Shea absolutely has to be at the top of Apple’s priority list for a 2015 release. Even the long overdue re-release of ‘Let It Be ‘ has to be put on hold for this one…:-)

So Act Naturally is the studio version overdubbed and Everybodys Trying To Be My Baby is omitted due to it being a 1991 remaster? Disappointing. With every update on this it becomes less exciting.

Very disappointing. Especially when you’ve read the great new Shea Stadium book and read about how there are (supposedly) REELS of unused footage and sound from the gig somewhere…I recently spoke with the author of the book about this. Apparently, according to his book, John Lennon himself also had loads of the footage tucked away somewhere…

‘She’s A Woman ‘ is the Shea audio but the footage is from the 1965 NME Pollwinners Concert (taken from Wogblog), the SAW Shea footage has never been booted or screened, presumably Apple have it in their vaults. The complete ‘Everybody’s Trying To Be My Baby ‘ is on the Anthology dvds.

It’s been mentioned elsewhere about a lawsuit from Sid Bernstein’s company regarding ownership of the footage but I just saw an article which goes into a lot more detail.

A lot of people tend to forget that The Beatles also played Shea Stadium in 1966 as well… but, I believe that there were empty rows of unsold tickets visible throughout, unlike what’s seen in the 1965 footage… perhaps this is why it’s not documented much throughout the literature… There is, however, an album that was released in the 80’s documenting the fans experience before, during and after the 1966 show called ‘The Beatles at Shea Stadium – Described by Erupting Fans!’… I remember seeing this L.P. on occasion at the record stores of the day, but always passed on it for it didn’t appear to contain any music… I’ve never heard it before until just today and thought I’d pass it along here to those who may be interested:
An interesting moment in time, but not something that I’ll probably listen to again anytime soon… It would’ve fit well into Apple’s “paperback records” concept, known as ‘Zapple Records’, where you’d listen to something once or twice then toss it into the bin. Wouldn’t mind seeing the Zapple concept resurrected for it was a great idea, in my opinion… I can’t think of a better way to re-launch the label than to finally release ‘Carnival Of Light ‘ for the label was an avenue for the avant garde genre…:-)

I have the complete video + audio of Shea Stadium if anyone wants it.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.
