Though The Beatles official UK/Europe store still has it up and still with an estimated release of 27 May. As badly as this has been handled, if a cancellation notice had gone out, you’d expect among the first places to remove the option of pre-ordering it would be the online official stores.

Sorry, not really. I may like certain content that is or was produced under the 20th CF banner, but I’m not crazy for Marvel or Star Wars.
And I’m just not that into that monopoly approach Disney is radiating, I often get the impression they just want to buy and swallow the whole US film industry and make it into the cinematic equivalent of a Disneyland theme park.

Really hope not, but have to admit I have a bad feeling that may be the case. I really want this on my shelf.

It has to do with them using a political agenda to propagandize the entertainment industry.
If you are in favor of the agenda, you probably don’t care.
I have nothing against the agenda, but I am against the entertainment industry being weaponized to enforce it. I also have a problem with how certain artists are canceled for not going along with it.

Confirmation of Kyles’ post.
I doubt that the release has been cancelled though. If it had been I’m sure we’d hear grumblings from Paul or Peter Jackson somewhere. The video Kyle put up is informed conjecture but conjecture nonetheless.

It’s utterly annoying the way they are dealing with this. To begin with, i don’t even understand why they needed Disney. Imho they should have managed all this by their own, with total control over the product, the release date, format…

NOT CANCELLED.
This is the official message sent out by The Beatles Official Store to those who have pre-ordered, rather than an email sent from one Australian supplier to other suppliers in Australia:
We’re writing to share some news about The Beatles: Get Back 3-Disc Blu-ray Collector’s Edition that you bought at The Beatles Official Store. First of all, we want to apologize for the delay in fulfilling this title. We’re aware of the excitement and importance around this release, and how much that means for Beatles fans and customers around the world. We really look forward to meeting your request and putting this unique documentary in your hands. We also want to apologize for having yet another delay in the production and implementation of this media. Due to these supply chain issues, the release date of this item has been postponed again to summer of 2022. We sincerely apologize for the continued delay and for any inconvenience this may cause. We love The Beatles: Get Back and are looking forward to sharing a new release date soon.
So, the official line is still that IT HAS NOT BEEN CANCELLED BUT FURTHER DELAYED. That makes sense that there’s problems with the supply chain. Anyone who has followed international trade in recent months that there are huge delays in container ships being able to move product around the world. And it would also make sense that they are holding back until they can guarantee all territories have it available at the same time, rather than having those in territories who have it available selling it at an inflated price to those in territories which don’t.
If you want it released internationally on the same day, as we do these days, you can only do it as fast as your slowest market takes to get its stock into place.
They want the stock in place where it’s needed. Simple as.

I did point to its continued availability for pre-order on the Official Store. If it had been cancelled Apple would have known. Any order taken after cancellation could open them up to a charge of fraud (taking money for a product you know will never be supplied, returning it after a while, but earning interest from it while it’s in your account).
Assuming Australia’s stock isn’t being internally produced, but is coming from China or another country in that region, with the shipping delays we’re seeing at the moment, might not have the necessary stock in place yet.
This is what has happened to Get Back ‘s latest release date…

As usual my sources are lost somewhere back along the long and winding, pot-holed, dirt-track of a road of my memory. Back in the late 80s/early 90s one of the reasons being given for no official release or showing of the original ‘Let it Be’ movie was over copyright issues on some of the classic rock n roll oldies the band played on screen. Some of the original composers/performers of the songs were demanding high royalty rates for their songs.

…there’s one sentence that makes me worried there might be another long board room battle that means we won’t see Disneys’ ‘Get Back ‘ or Peter Jacksons’ extended version in physical form for a very long time.
“We have just been informed by Disney that the below title has been delayed indefinitely, due to authoring challenges”
Someone put my mind at rest please!

I disagree. That’s PR Obfustication. Blame something unverifiable.
Yes, there’s distribution issues around the world right now. Some due to the Suez thing, some due to Covid, some due to Russian aggression, some due to my grandmother not being able to knit a scarf for my neices’ birthday because her hand fell off, (…I’m starting to feel like me worrying about when ‘Get Back ‘ will come out on DVD is peurile…).
Physical copies of a lot of blockbuster movies released in cinemas before and after ‘Get Back ‘ have been sent out, received, complained about, returned, watched, re-watched, lost, accidentally put in the dishwasher and eaten, (along with my homework), by the dog.
I don’t believe distribution is an issue.

Then it seems there is nothing anyone here could say that would reassure you if you won’t accept the official statement that it has been delayed and not cancelled, @Mean Mr Piggie.
As I also say somewhere above, were Apple to continue to take orders after they knew it was cancelled, and to not return money already paid on pre-orders at the earliest moment following cancellation, they would – in the UK at least, and possibly in other places – open themselves up to criminal charges of fraud.
The Beatles Official Store is part of Apple, is still taking orders, and hasn’t refunded any orders it has unless they’ve been cancelled. So, are you suggesting Apple are now involved in a criminal enterprise to take money from people for a product that has cancelled?
It just doesn’t make sense to me that the directors of Apple (Paul, Ringo, Yoko and Olivia) would risk imprisonment for fraud rather than admit it isn’t going to be released, and starting to return money to those who have pre-paid them for the product.
If you want to believe Apple are happy to face fraud charges then yes it might have been cancelled, but if like me you believe Apple would not put themselves in the position of committing a criminal act, so long as they are taking pre-orders and not refunding those who’ve already bought it, it has not been cancelled.

I feel like we’ve veered off track here. I never used the word ‘cancelled’.
There is no law in the UK that says a company expecting to distribute a product, but facing a delay caused by 3rd parties will be sued for criminal activity of any kind for not issuing refunds on a product they fully expect to deliver.
My question can be paraphrased to say “does anyone know if copyright issues over songs/performances/references to/of music not created by The Beatles themselves is creating the delay to the physical release of Peter Jacksons’ ‘The Beatles: Get Back ‘?”
Amber Heard, please present your evidence…and if you could refrain from snorting cocaine whilst in the witness stand…it would be appreciated.
