Will this finally be the thing that makes me get a blu ray player, 12 years after I should have gotten a blu ray player?
A Hard Day’s Night ; Help ! ; Magical Mystery Tour and Yesterday have all received a proper Bluray treatment. I highly recommend getting them on BD.

I have spent far too much on Beatles gear to re-buy them all on Blu-Ray, especially when I watch them very rarely. I think the last time I watched a Beatles movie was Help ! about 3 years ago and that’s because my friends asked would I put it on.

Fair enough. AHDN will be reissued on 4K next year. Maybe its worth a look for you.

I’m the same. I finally bought a Blu-Ray player a year or so back but I think I’ve used it twice and that was to rip CDs to a computer.

I still haven’t seen parts 2 or 3.
What’s the holdup, man? Don’t you want to find out whether or not George ever returned to the band?
Lol…
I just wanted to hold on to my fantasy of Yoko stepping in and taking over the band.
I finally saw part 2. John was hilarious. I wanted to laugh just about every time I saw his face.

So, here are some thoughts on the film. [SPOILER ALERT, but I’m sure I’m the last person to watch it].
Debbie Wellum, oh my God , lol. She’s the star of the movie. Absolutely brilliant at stalling everyone. She was cracking me up.
Also, I really liked that Paul and John wore the matching baby blue shirts.
And I really liked John’s “McLennon” comment about how the album would be a concept album about his romance with Paul.
Also, I noticed during the rooftop concert that Paul really seemed to be enjoying watching John perform. And John seemed to be exhilarated as well. The rooftop concert was very emotional for me…it was nice to see The Beatles waking up sleepy midday London. I’ve always thought seeing the guy enjoying his lunch break on the roof across the street was really cool for some reason.
And I thought it was really touching how George Martin stepped in to fix things when they were going wrong.
Overall, better than Let it Be.

I’d call the Wooler joke “darkly funny”.
It took me more than one viewing to realize that George (or someone) evidently wished for the boys to recreate their c.1959 Western look, as in that one photo, hence sending the overworked Mal on the futile quest to find Bolo ties (only for him to return with bow ties instead)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Yeah, I think I missed that. I remember George asking for a lacy sort of tie or something. And then I remember him wearing a black scarf-looking tie, which I assumed is what he asked for. And then later I do recall bowties. But I think I missed the part where the bolo ties were asked for.

George doesn’t actually use word “bolo” to Mal; I think he says Western-style or string ties. And I’m not sure who-all ends up wearing them; I can only recall seeing them on George and John, not sure if Paul or Ringo are shown (or Billy) join in at any point.

According to the Disney Plus Informer a 1-hour feature, The Beatles: Get Back – The Rooftop Concert, will appear in select IMAX cinemas on 30 January, remastered for IMAX technology, including a Q&A with Peter Jackson. There will be further cinema screenings (not specified as IMAX) 11-13 February.
The DVD/Blu-ray release of the series has a US release date (though one would think it will be the same elsewhere) of 8 February.

It’s reported as having a standalone DVD/Blu-ray release later in the year, @William Shears Campbell, though a date has yet to be announced.

This is how I see it happening. The IMAX engagement and the main Blu-ray release next month. The LIB standalone release in spring or summer. Any extended cut release at all by Thanksgiving.

Annoyingly all of the cinemas so far confirmed for the one-off IMAX showing of the rooftop concert and Peter Jackson Q&A on 30 January are all American. I do hope that, because of the live link-up between cinemas for the Jackson Q&A, it doesn’t turn out to be a US only event.
It would be almost laughable were this special anniversary showing of the performance not accessible outside of the US, especially within the country and city where it took place.
