The trailer definitely is amazing, and it really shows what we’re going to get. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” The agony and the ecstasy, and everything in between.
Basically, the sessions were a three-act story: Act I is Twickenham, the definite low point where tensions were highest and the lads were indeed quite miserable and starting to break up already; Act II is Apple Studios, where everything was repaired, the vibe was a complete 180, and Billy Preston’s presence added a definite spark, so they could just barrel down and focus on the music; Act III is the rooftop, the grand finale, and you could say the Hollywood ending, the moment where everything came together and it looked like the future was bright once more…until Allen Klein came in and bulldozed things, so that after Abbey Road , the band could only disintegrate.
It will be great to finally have the complete picture of this period, to bust a lot of popular myths and demonstrate that what Ringo said in Anthology is true: “there were a lot of days it worked. We were still good friends. Except it worked like two days a month instead of all the time.”

“How many have we already recorded good enough?”
“None.”
That, right there, sent CHILLS through my body! For all the worry some (including me) gave about the film being too happy, That one scene should sell it to any doubters! That was incredible. John didn’t even laugh. He was stone cold serious as if to say “We’ve had it. We’re done.”
Can not WAIT! I was absolutely enthralled with that trailer!

First thought is how good it looks, I would love to see it on a full cinema screen. I remember going to the cinema for ‘LITMW’, ‘EDAW’, ‘MMT’ etc and it was a wonderful experience seeing them whilst being surrounded by other Beatles fans, especially for the former as it was an exceptional documentary. It’s completely different, and in my opinion far inferior, to being in your house where you can press pause whilst you boil the kettle. I’ll always chose the cinema over the house where possible.

Looks fantastic to me. Really good trailer that hopefully reflects a really good movie.

Long time no see!
I took that scene to be classic British deadpan humour, but I suppose context will see if I’m right or not…

The Beatles are still alive, because there they are on the screen. Looks like it was recorded yesterday. This is going to be a real treat. Savour the first watch through, because it’s all new to us.

That is a sensational poster. Makes up for the last one, which I didn’t really like.

While this looks amazing and shows the camaraderie, I do hope they re-release the original movie as well. I enjoy the original because it shows more of the dynamic where everyone was getting sick to death of Paul. This movie could be another of Paul’s attempts to rewrite history.
Of course, if the movie shows the same footage in a wider context, it could show that the problem was with the original narrative. But I find that hard to believe since they did seem to be divided 3 to 1 against Paul in their business affairs.

It always amazaed me that there are only 7 years between both shots. I love how the poster pays tribute the whole history of the band. I really really love this artwork!

Peter Jackson as director doesnt rewrite history. And from the original movie and books about the session you could tell that there were many problems with Johns and Georeges attitude too. In fact John and George had a major fallout.
I recommend the Youtube Channel “Pop goes the 60’s”. They guy has analyzed and commented on the actual recording tapes:
https://www.youtube.com/channe…..gDaaUVLlgg
The problem of the Beatles wasnt Paul alone. In fact he was the guy who tried to hold them together. It was by all means all of them beeing fed up and tired by the dynamics and routines and of course the fact that they wanted to go in other directions in terms of music, art and creativity. I dont get why there is a need to give all the crap to Paul when its told by the actual lads that it was in fact all 4 of them (maybe Ringo not so much) who contributed to the fallout, George and John as much as Paul.
Concerning Allen Klein one could say that Paul was right about everything.

I guess they just reffer to the fact thats it getting celebrated like an event. Its a big deal that documentation and they’re trying to market it in a way that it feels special and big. There will be lots of marketing for this coming in November.

It’s a three-part documentary, each 2 hours long, streaming on Disney+ over three consecutive nights.

I’m counting on Dusney+ offering a free (at least 3 day) trial. I have no use for it otherwise.
I wonder if it will be available on Disney+ after those 3 days.

I thought it did but apparently Disney did away with it months ago. Looks like it’s hoping someone you know has an account you can use or we all use the same log-in after setting up a gofundme page. Maybe mods can claim the subscription cost from Joe as a work expense.

It looks absolute incredible, almost worth getting Disney+ for. Roll on the DVD set.
I’m feeling positive about it. The world’s greatest band near the end of their reign, with tension but still buckets of creativity and charm shining through. It’s a great concept for a movie – if Jackson assembles the footage properly to really emphasise the situation it has the potential to be one of the best Beatles things ever.
