1. Both movies feature miserable attempts at drumming. (The studio guy playing on the cymbal in AHDN and Algernon hitting the chair in Help .)

2. Both movies feature trapdoors. (The one that Paul’s grandfather uses to get onstage in AHDN and the one Ringo falls through in Help .)

3. Victor Spinetti (obviously.)

4. In both movies, a Beatle cheats at cards. (John pulling cards out of his sleeve during the I Should Have Known Better scene in AHDN , and George peeking at Ringo’s cards in Help .)

Can anyone else think of some?

In both movies, Ringo is a cause of the Beatles’ troubles ahdn_ringo_09ahdn_ringo_09– when he went missing before the concert in AHDN and the whole thing with the ring in Help .

Also, in both movies, Ringo orders a drink but doesn’t get a chance to drink it because it is smashed/tipped over by George

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8Just after Can’t Buy Me Love , when the worried managers return to their room and Norm complains “this is a battle of nerves between John and me”, you can see a copy of In His Own Write on the left, above the fireplace.

Both casts feature John Lennon , Paul McCartney , George Harrison , Ringo Starr and Victor Spinetti.

George’s mum demanded Victor be in Beatles films.

Both films were released at the height of Beatlemania (1964 and 1965 respectively).

Both films were huge successes.

Both films were released in the United States.
