I was wondering if mods would consider pinning this thread to make it easier to find and contribute to?

In light of @Matt Busby’s post in the news thread a few Beatles and solo programmes (along with a whole load of other artists) are available to be heard over in the BBC Radio 4 archive (depending on where you are in the universe obviously what with the streaming laws and regulations.)
‘George Harrison – The Concert For Bangladesh‘
‘John Lennon – The Wenner Tapes‘
‘When Cassius Met The Beatles‘
The last two, and 47 others, are also available for download here, just search for the title of the episode you are looking for.

A really good look at The Beatles and John Lennon connection with Ireland (with particular reference to Lennon and the IRA and the concerts the lads played in Dublin). Under the ‘Live Stream’ picture, click ‘Ceol’ and then ‘The Beatles-Guth’
It had some footage that I had never seen before (the concerts were filmed !) and some newsreel cinema parts.
It’s in Irish and English (but the Irish parts have English subtitles) and features interviews with Rod Davis (of The Quarrymen) and the legendary BP Fallon (who made sure The Beatles’ weed was good quality during the Apple Years and also features in John’s ‘Instant Karma’ video– the man pretending to play the bass)
For anyone who likes Oasis, another episode made by the same people. It features interviews with the Gallagher’s non-famous brother
Also:
The Smiths
The Sex Pistols
Dusty Springfield
(Just keep on clicking on the arrow to the end to find these ones)
Enjoy

For those who can receive the UK’s ITV channel, the three-part drama Cilla, starring Sheridan Smith, and telling the story of Cilla Black’s early years, starts on Monday 15th at 9pm. Then, after the news, at 10:40pm, they are reshowing The Night That Changed America yet again (how many times have ITV found a reason to broadcast this since they got their hands on it?).

A Monster in Paris (the English version) is on Channel 4 at 4:10pm today featuring the voice of Sean Lennon as Francoeur (the monster). I saw the original French version about a year after it came out but never saw the English dub.

In the UK, the channel Yesterday is showing a series called The Sixties. Tomorrow (21st) at 9pm and Wednesday (22nd) at 8pm the episode is called The British Invasion. Methinks The Beatles might get a passing reference or two!

Scheduled for broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on the 17th November 2014 from 9pm to 10pm is ‘What Macca Did Next: The Decade With Wings‘. It will then be available for 30 days on the BBC iplayer for those who can access it.
I’m a little bemused by the Radio Times review for this which reads
I imagine if you picked through the 1970s catalogues of the four former Beatles you might just find enough material to assemble one greatest hits LP of uniformly excellent singles. Maybe.
Which leaves me amazed that Johnnie Walker has devoted an entire hour to revisiting a decade of Wings, when McCartney was proof that craftsmanship alone does not cut the mustard.

My guess is he is a disgruntled former reviewer of Heavy Metal bands who was, in his mind, demoted to reviewing Classic Rock acts because he got caught sleeping with the boss’s wife. Just a guess, mind you.

Sky Arts 1 is currently screening the documentary ‘The Art Of McCartney’. Only just discovered its on but its repeated at 4:30am this Monday morning (17th November 2014) and should be on Sky’s catch-up service as well as the subject of numerous repeats.
Sky’s synopsis reads:
?On Monday, November 17, an album titled ‘The Art of McCartney’ will go on general release.
It’s an all-star tribute record featuring an extraordinary array of talent. Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, Smokey Robinson, The Cure, Billy Joel, Corinne Bailey Rae and many more perform Sir Paul’s songs covering the full span of his career from The Beatles through to Wings and his solo work.
In total 34 tracks have been recorded (although there are a further eight available if you’re prepared to shell out for the limited edition vinyl box set and deluxe box set).
On Sunday night Sky Arts will broadcast a UK premiere that will take us behind the scenes at the making of this eagerly awaited album.
Artists and producers reveal the stories behind which tracks they recorded.
And in this special preview clip we discover how Dylan became involved and that the song he chose would have been the A-side of A Hard Day’s Night if The Beatles had got their way…
