Marcela & Paul - "Los Simuladores" | Fab Forum | The Beatles Bible

Ask anyone from Argentina what is the absolute best national show and they will maybe unanimously reply “Los Simuladores”, or “The Pretenders”. A 2002-2004 fictional TV show about four men who run a secret company that helps people get out of unconventional problems, by fabricating public situations. It is must-see TV for the Argentines, because it’s hilarious, has very distinct characters and amussing situations.

Season 1, Episode 12 is titled “Marcela & Paul”. It’s about a solitary woman who runs a library and is a massive Beatles fan. This woman’s daughter is worried that her mother is suffering from depression and maybe even has suicidal thoughts. She contacts the Pretenders and they investigate her (as is routine in every episode). Their plan to make her enjoy life more, involves making her meet Paul McCartney . Although the catch is in the way the Pretenders achieve that.

It’s a beloved episode because of its absolutely ridiculous premise, becoming one of the more creative and random of the bunch. Sadly this amazing series only had two seasons. I never mentioned it in the forum because I thought there wouldn’t be any English Sub version, and for a long time there wasn’t. However today I found the episode with English subtitles, as well as the entire series in this man’s YouTube channel.

I so recommend it. And the entire show as well. There are very good episodes in there, and was created by the same guy who made Wild Tales.
