The fact that we can see the spectacular footage for “Flying ” and “Blue Jay Way ” (and hot 1967 Paul) in colour gives us all a big leg up over the ’67 audience.

In case you haven’t seen it, outtakes from “I Am The Walrus ” have emerged. Darn that watermark, but it’s still great to see.

Its a fantastic clip and makes you wonder where it came from and if there is any more.
The way they shot the thing makes me think there may be a lot of cast-off bits somewhere, just like Let It Be material.

And while I’m on the subject–slightly off topic…I only have the Bluray of A Hard Day’s Night .
Are the Blurays of the other three films noticeable upgrades? Is a cartoon actually better in Bluray?

By definition yes, but I was wondering if the difference is slight enough that I shouldn’t bother. (I’m talking about the difference between the Blurays and DVDs that were released at the same time, from the same transfer). I will probably just go ahead and get the Blurays.
I’m assuming that the Amazon listing is a mistake and that you can actually watch MMT on an American player.

I know it was certainly not their intention. But in a way, I think the MMT film is a forerunner to video tape collections like We’re All Devo, the Rollings Stones Video Rewind or Talking Head’s Storytelling Giant.
In other words, it resembles a collection of music videos linked by some sketches with a common theme but no real plot.
What do you think?

Though that was not their intention, it’s pretty much as you described it. I like it. There are videos all over YouTube and other sites of them acting odd or silly and I get a kick out of those as well. Why not have a collection of similar scenes made by themselves with great music to go with it?

I was wondering how would the Beatles be different if this film was a popular success?

Watched MMT for the first time last night. I have no words and I’m still so confused. Nuff said
Just think of it as a very surreal, extra-long Monty Python episode. Without the funny bits. And Monty Python.
Okay, it’s nothing like Monty Python.

The whole thing used to be up on YouTube in multiple parts. That was where I first saw it. I was always made to think it was absolutely horrible, but, having actually seen it, I didn’t think it was that bad. It was decent. Kind of plotless, but, hey, who cares? I wouldn’t call it a great piece of filmmaking, but, frankly, I wouldn’t say that about any of the Beatles’ films.
