I cannot believe I’m saying this, but I’ve only ever seen this film once and so many years ago that I can’t really remember much about it.
I know it wasn’t the best five minutes they had, but it was still The Beatles.
I wonder if it will ever be officially released?

I read on the other day that they’re working on a remastered version with deleted footage and the like. There are also two fan edits, one I’ve seen and one I can’t find any information on!
Magical Mystery Tour: The 40th Anniversary Edit They did their best to put the events of this movie in chronological order and added “Hello, Goodbye ” before the opening the title sequence. A torrent should still be up but there doesn’t seem to be a PAL version.
WogBlog: Magical Mystery Tour Revisted This sounds pretty cool, but apart from this article, I haven’t been able to find any evidence of it.

Well, it's not the boys at their absolute best, but there are enough enjoyable bits in it to make it worth another watch. You can see it on youtube. (My favorite stretch is Part 5… it's got the Death Cab for Cutie bit as well as I Am The Walrus .) Doubt they're releasing it anytime soon… s'pose Let It Be will be the next release.

Well if this is so, then that's terrific news.

I'm pretty sure Let It Be isn't happening any time soon. I think Paul recently said it wouldn't be coming out as it casts the group in a bad light (which everyone knows anyway, but hey).
Can buy me love! Please consider supporting the Beatles Bible on Amazon
Or buy my paperback/ebook! Riding So High – The Beatles and Drugs
Don't miss The Bowie Bible – now live!

The “I Am The Walrus ” and “Death Cab For Cutie” sequences are worth the price of admission alone. The rest is…eh…

Here is what I think might be that edit I was talking about. Or it could be something else completely. Am I right in thinking that the intro borrowed parts from the remastered promotional videos or something? Either way, it's gets me excited to watch it even though I know what follows won't live up to the intro. Why couldn't they remake this movie, instead of Yellow Submarine ?

Haven't seen that for years. Cheers Skye – I enjoyed that!

The bits and pieces of technology-savvy clips are actually from Beatles Rockband- in between every gig or city, you get to enjoy a brief flight through the Beatles careers from album to album! 😀
Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!

Yeah, I remember reading that a while ago… but recently I read in another forum that they had cleared that hurdle and it was coming out this year… research proves you right, however. (Again! )

Ah. I knew it was new and not fan made. You can see a logo or something on those portions. I want that game.

Is there more than one version of this ?
The reason I ask is when I first saw it on the tv, maybe the very first – the B&W showing – I seem to recall the sequence with the exotic dancer had her in full frame fairly close-up with a big ‘censored’ hiding the interesting bits.
But when I saw it subsequently she was shot more mid-distant and the ‘censored’ caption was much smaller ?

Thanks for this! I am going to watch this and the movie. I think the last time I saw it was in the 70s… and honestly I never cared much for the movie. It’s like one of those Beatles things you watch because it’s The Beatles.
But who knows. I might enjoy bits of it. Anyway, I’m so having that George orange suit done for Halloween with hat included!

Also, who is that simply stunning woman sitting next to paul when The Fool On The Hill starts?

Do you mean Wendy Winters (played by Mandy Weet)? Also, don't forget my namesake Happy Nat (Jackley).
Bringing you the best and worst of The Beatles, since 2007.
