Awesome! I will be seeing ADHN on Sunday…the day after I see Ringo.Me and my uncle are also seeing it on Sunday. It’s at the local “art” theater (not xrated, good offbeat movies), so it will be small and intimate at least
Ex-Tex and I are going to the theater at an art museum also. I don’t know the size of the theater. I will fill you in when I know more.

Mine is not an actual art museum – when I say an “art” theater I mean one that shows independent, foreign, and other not-quite-suitable-for-mainstream-Americentric-audiences films (i.e., films with artistic merit or societal impact, not just sex, violence, gunplay, and/or comedy). The old one in town used to show Rocky Horror every Friday night, for example.
Here’s the synopsis of a coming attraction: “LEGENDS OF THE KNIGHT weaves together the uplifting true stories of individuals who have overcome devastating obstacles, unselfishly given to the community, and embraced their inner superhero because of their love of Batman.”

Am watching the BBC4 airing (i’ve paused it). Firstly it looks fabulous.
I’ve seen this lord knows how many times but George is shaving on the train when they are first talking to Grandad. I’ve never noticed that before. Also – why is George shaving on the train (love his portable razor)?
8:25pm edit: Up to the end of If I Fell – looks to me that the whole performance is slightly out of sync but the line they have “repaired” is a mess as you can hear Paul sing “was in vain” before Paul sings “was in vain”.
8:55pm edit: Whilst Grandad is getting at Ringo in the cafe, towards the end whilst Ringo says “what’s in it for me?” one of the guys in the background looking bored steals a newspaper one of the wounded actors is reading peeving him off. When Ringo leaves the canteen the man has his paper back.
9:30pm edit: finished. Damn good that was. Hadnt seen it in ages. Only right i watch it on Friday.

Oh! Paul’s eyelashes. That big.
Kite, I thought of you when I saw your flame.

I don’t remember the movie well enough since I saw it long ago — obviously they’re “lip-synching” to songs, so aren’t they always off, or is this really a mismatch of the new release??
Here’s a spoiler? video clip plus brief article for those of us (me) who don’t have the Criterion video.

Definitely the best scene!
So my local theater isn’t playing the movie, and neither are any nearby. The closest one is about an hour south. I don’t know if I can see it in theaters.
Can’t wait to be able to buy it though, I want to see everything clearly! My copy as I’ve mentioned somewhere is homeade from a YouTube video. Not bad quality at all, but definitely not up to these standards!

Just got back from seeing it. Lennon steals the show; Ringo’s not far behind. George has his scene where he makes all the funny faces. Paul doesn’t have many speaking lines. Great, great editing. The movie really zips along.
They’ve cut out “I’ll Cry Instead “! I have a memory of the movie opening with that song (due to the movie being completed, etc… etc…). I suppose they just replaced with a AHDN . Makes sense.
One more year and we get to see Help ! on the big screen! [someone’s gonna be starting that thread]

@Into the Sky with Diamonds I’ll Cry Instead was added to the beginning of the film, with the use of stills, for the first (1982) video release. It wasn’t part of the original release, which starts as you saw it most recently, with A Hard Day’s Night .
It was used because it was the lost musical sequence from the film, the last minute cut, the group having been filmed performing it during the Scala sequence, and it hitting the cutting-room floor.

OK, thanks. I think “You Can’t Do That ” was also cut. In fact, isn’t that the song that was performed but cut?

Yip. It was saved from being lost with all the other footage thru being given to the Ed Sullivan Show to air in April (i think) of ’64. It was included in the 90’s documetary ‘The Making Of ‘A Hard Day Night” and is now in amongst the extras on the 2014 dvd.
