Somehow I missed it when it came to my city, even though I’ve been checking every week to see screening times.I guess I have to wait for the DVD.
Its on Amazon Instant Video for $6. I wouldn’t normal pay that high for a rental, but it looks interesting.
Great photos parlance!

There’s an extensive interview with Freda in The Guardian. Haven’t yet read it in full, but someone else had highlighted this bit:
Lennon had often confided in her that he thought he would die young. “The first thing that came into my mind [when he died] was that he used to say: ‘I won’t be here when I’m 40. I won’t make 40’,” she says. “I just wonder what he’d be like today.”
Wow. I hadn’t heard that before. I wonder why he felt like that as early as his 20s.

I haven’t had a chance to watch the movie (again), but I did get a chance to watch the Special Features. They include the Q&A from the Fest for Beatles Fans, which you can’t watch without tearing up. I’m sorry to say I was underwhelmed by the deleted scenes. With 50 hours of footage, I was hoping for much more. But the story of Freda getting sloshed at the “How I Won the War” premiere afterparty lived up to the hype (the director had been promising it would be on the DVD). And I liked the interview with the director.
When I do have a chance to watch again, I’ll watch with the commentary track on. So far I give the extras a 3 out of 5 though.

My post has been lost, so I’ll repeat (and slightly re-phrase):
I watched this the other day on More4 and I really enjoyed it. Even though I was expecting it because of what I’d read about her already, I was still surprised at just how humble and down-to-earth she seemed. Also, I have a lot of respect for her for not selling her story like so many others, many of which barely even had one to sell, have done. I noticed she avoided to comment when the interviewer asked her if she’d ever dated any of the Beatles, or something similar. How many others have earned loads of money by saying things like that – true or not?
I agree with what Joe said, too – she should’ve been given a nice pay-off after the years of good work and dedication she put into that job. Apple let her down.
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

Go to Unblock-Us.com and use the one-week free trial. Just sign up, watch the short video how to change your DNS settings, and you’ve got U.S. Netflix.
Or for 5 bucks a month just subscribe and get U.S. Netflix all the time.

Just watched this and I have to say it really is essential viewing for hardcore Beatles fans. I also agree that Freda Kelly’s loyalty & confidentiality toward her employers is admirable and practically priceless these days. If I’d been one of the Beatles I think I’d have rewarded her with a pension she could’ve retired on.
I do hope she writes a book. There’s plenty more she could expand on without betraying the respect she obviously still has for the band’s privacy and legacy.
