Evangeline grinned
(I can’t get enough of these smileys)
As I recall, I felt the same when I joined.
Still do!
Favourite scenes (spoiler alert for those who have not seen the films):
- AHDN : A tie between the opening train scene and George’s scene with the manager guy and his dead grotty shirts.
- Help !: The scene when George heroically leaps onto the scientists’ car and hangs on and, when the car stops, cheerfully undoes the wheel whilst nonchalantly whistling the whole time.
- Yellow Submarine : The Nowhere Man scene. I think.
Ahhh is it really so obvious how much a Harrifan I am

Yeah, I love that scene from Help . My favourite from AHDN is probably when Ringo is wandering around the city. I love the part in Yellow Submarine when they are confusing the bulldog.

Haven’t seen the movies in ages.
The intermission scene in ‘Help !’ is brilliant.
The below from ‘A Hard Day’s Night ‘.
‘I Am The Walrus ‘ from MMT (not much of note from there).

AHDN :
John in the bathtub playing with the toy boats … “Rule Brittania! Brittania rule the… *SPLASH*” Hahaha! George and his safety razor, shaving the mirror. Shake saying “It’s not my fault. I come from a long line of electricians.” Just that whole scene.
George and the shirt promo, calling them “dead grotty”.
And this scene:
Also “Can’t Buy Me Love “.
===========================
Help ! :
The Exciting Adventure of Paul on the Floor
George realizing the curling stone is actually a bomb: “It’s a thingy! A fiendish thingy!”
“Intermission” cracks me up.
Also “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away ” and George fainting when Ahme pulls out the syringe.
===========================
John as a waiter shoveling spaghetti onto the table in front of Aunt Jessie
John with little Nicola. It kills me it was so sweet.
Also “I Am The Walrus “.
============================
“Nowhere Man “.
Just … all of it. It’s a gorgeous work of art.

Hold up, that was spaghetti? I thought that was, well… Now… I don’t understand life…
From Help !: George screaming “Look it’s a thing, a fiendishy thing!” (crap, I might’ve gotten the quote wrong, haven’t watched the movie in ages)
That’s actually the only one I can really decide on at the moment. If I remember any more, I’ll just post em here later

This “If I Fell ” scene from AHDN must be my favorite. The lads trying hard not to let the scene fall apart into laughter, the close-ups of their faces and the instruments (with fingerprints and all), and I guess the fantasy of John, Paul & George tryin’ to cheer one up with a song (Ringo’s smile says it all ).

John’s soup scene in Help ! And the famous Beethoven’s famous 9th symphony sequence from Help as well.
“Hey Mister, can we have our ball back” from AHDN .
I have always found that part from AHDN confusing because I didn’t think they had a ball with them in the train car… maybe it’s a British thing I don’t understand.

That’s the point. It’s impossible for them to get off the train that quickly (with a bike). It’s typical British surreal humour, you’re supposed to be thinking “that doesn’t make sense”.
It’s like the Monty Python sketches where there’s a knight who hits people with a rubber chicken; it knows it’s not real life so it doesn’t conform to what we think is realistic.
And the “can we have our ball back?” is a reference to kids kicking their football over the fence and having to ask someone to get it back for them. They’re just saying it to annoy the old dude, I think.
