On this week’s Fab Files we continue our exclusive interview with Lizzie Bravo as she talks about the Apple boutique, her thoughts on George Harrison ‘s “Apple Scruffs ” song, what her life is like today, the title of her upcoming book, and more. Then I will play some music that Lizzie provided for the show as we listen to the likes of Elis Regina, Marye Bravo (Lizzie’s daughter), Cachorro Grande and more. Lizzie Bravo- The Interview, Part 2 on this week’s Fab Files Saturday June 14 at 3 PM (EDT) with a re-broadcast late Sunday June 15 at midnight (EDT) only on WETS HD2. On this week’s Fab Files we look at one of the more bizarre aspects of the Beatles’ legacy that is largely unknown: the “King Kong”/”Jam Rag” debacle from 1971 involving John Lennon , Yoko Ono and Frank Zappa. The story here is that John and Yoko jammed with Zappa and his band at the Fillmore East in June of 1971 and recorded that session. John then took Zappa’s composition “King Kong,” retitled it “Jam Rag” for Some Time In New York City and erased Zappa’s writing credit on the re-titled work. We investigate that highly questionable tactic with Bob Hoffman, the host of WETS’s Zappa-centric show Utility Muffin Research Hour on this week’s Fab Files Saturday June 21 at 3 PM (EDT) with a re-broadcast late Sunday night June 22 at midnight (EDT) only (though not for much longer…) on WETS HD2. On this week’s Fab Files we look at some of the political songs of the Beatles, both as a band and on their own. Paul, George and especially John were not shy about expressing their beliefs through their music, and we take a look at the more overt songs with a message, from “Taxman ” to “All You Need Is Love ” to “Bangladesh” to the songs about the Bogside Massacre of 1972, and much more. Some of the songs in this episode have adult language, so younger listeners should get parental approval before tuning in. Political Beatles on this week’s Fab Files Saturday June 28 at 3 PM (EDT) and late Sunday June 29 at midnight (EDT) on WETS HD2. Just a heads up that Fab Files has added a third time slot in its inevitable march towards world domination: besides the 3 PM Saturday and midnight late Sunday airings on WETS HD2, I can now be heard Friday nights at 10 PM on the main channel, WETS FM & HD1. (All of these times are Eastern Daylight Time.) For listeners outside the WETS listening area (which would be just about everyone here on this forum), if you’re wanting to catch it online, the link is here: http://www.etsu.edu/wets/progr…..isten.aspx
If you’re wanting to listen to the show on its new Friday 10 PM slot, you would click on the appropriate link in the FM/HD1 stream. If you’re listening on either 3 PM Saturday or midnight late Sunday, it’s the usual HD-2 section.
And on this week’s Fab Files, we check out the Beatles classics that originally were under another name before the title got changed to the titles we all know and love. Everyone knows “Scrambled Eggs” eventually became “Yesterday ,” and we feature that song this week, but what was the original title for “I’ve Just Seen A Face ?” Do you know what “That Was Some Friendly” or “Bad Finger Boogie” eventually became? And how about all those songs titled “Untitled?” We’ve got all those and more this week on the Fab Files Friday July 4 at 10 PM (EDT) on WETS FM/HD1 as well as Saturday July 5 at 3 PM (EDT) and late Sunday July 6 at midnight (EDT) on WETS HD2. In this march to worldwide supremacy is a podcast or download link in the offing? Its a pain reading about your shows and not getting to hear them – like the little kid next door bragging about getting the bike you’ve been eyeing in the store.

The entire show can’t be on a podcast due to music copyright issues, but relatively soon the recent interviews with Lizzie Bravo and Ronald Grelsamer will be available as a podcast. As soon as I hear something, I’ll let you guys know.
As far as a download link, I’d have to ask my boss the next time I see him (he’s on vacation at the moment). But I’ll send a heads up when I talk to him about it.

I do understand the music copyright laws, its just a shame i can never catch them as the shows sound so damn interesting.
I hate that for you and those who can’t catch the show when it airs, but it’s one of those things, ya know?
I might have to mail you a couple of episodes on CD so you can hear them.

Is this offer possible for me, too? If you don’t want to discuss it here, PM me.

Totally understand. Apple would only be too happy to hit your station with a large bill for playing 45 seconds of Love Me Do , never mind everything else you play. Just one of those things.

On this week’s Fab Files it’s an exclusive interview with Ronald Grelsamer, a fellow Fab Forum friend (Into the Sky with Diamonds), a fellow Beatles radio show host (“Beatles and Friends” from Pawling Public Radio) and the author of the book Into the Sky With Diamonds: The Beatles and the Race to the Moon. Ron talks about the book, what the Beatles and NASA have in common, running into Paul McCartney (literally), the meaning of “Hey Bulldog ,” his radio show, and much more. We also listen to some music mostly provided by Ron that features the Beatles as well as David Bowie and Jonathan King. An Interview with Ronald Grelsamer on this week’s Fab Files Friday evening July 11 at 10 PM (EDT) on WETS FM/HD1 as well as Saturday afternoon July 12 at 3 PM (EDT) and late Sunday July 13 at midnight (EDT) on WETS HD2. OK, this is too much – I have GOT to remember to listen to the show this time!
(Incidentally, Mr. Roosa, have you ever seen the original “Wicker Man”? If not, you might want to consider it because IT’S GREAT!)

Set your alarm, @Von Bontee. Ask @vonbontee to set one also. Surely between the two of you, one of you will get the program switched on in time.
