Unfortunately, I fell asleep in the middle of last week’s. Just couldn’t stay up! It was really depressing me, too, knowing that after this interview, he went to the studio, then went home, and…. that was it. I get so mad/sad when I think about it.

I enjoyed all the interview you played last week. I was at work, but I took a break, nuked my lunch, and sat at my desk in my office eating (away from the reference/public area of the library) and listened while the show was on.
One thought: in the questions for Paul thread we mentioned that we would like for Paul to do some smaller concerts in more intimate places and sing songs just from his solo career. I was reminded of that conversation when John said during the interview that if he were to do concert in a small venue, people might snub him by saying that he couldn’t sell out Madison Square Garden again. We can still hope that Paul wouldn’t worry about other people’s perception of him if he did a small-venue concert tour. Well, we can dream, can’t we?
Looking forward to this week’s show. Hopefully you can stay awake this time IveJustSeenAFaceo. wetsroosa will be adding commentary so that will help you out.

No fault of the show, just the midnight start time! Show was great.
No worries. You are talking to someone who has a bedtime of 8:15 every night possible. I’ve been that way all my life. No way I could make it through much of anything at midnight.

I usually listen to the midnight repeat, which for me is 5 on a Monday morning! I do have trouble sleeping at night though!

On this week’s Fab Files there’s no Beatles music at all, but we do look at an interesting part of the Fabs’ legacy: songs from other artists that were #1 on the charts both in Britain and in America before a Beatles song knocked it out of #1. The array of artists this week range from the legendary (The Doors) to the obscure (Jeannie C. Riley), from an artist who career was dented because of the Beatles (Bobby Vinton) to artists who flourished because of the Beatles (Herman’s Hermits). And many more! #1 Before the Beatles, on this week’s Fab Files Saturday January 25 at 3 PM (EST) with a re-broadcast late Sunday January 26 at midnight (EST) on WETS HD2. On last week’s show, we looked at artists who had #1 hits, both in Britain and in America, that were knocked out of #1 by a Beatles song. Well on this week’s Fab Files we reverse the fortune and feature artists who knocked a Beatles song out of #1 to claim the throne for themselves. And much like last week, we’ve got an eclectic array of featured artists, from Louis Armstrong to Mary Hopkin, from Gerry and the Pacemakers to the Jackson 5, and much more. #1 After the Beatles, on this week’s Fab Files Saturday February 1 at 3 PM (EST) and late Sunday February 2 at midnight (EST) on WETS HD2. As we all know by now, this weekend marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ invasion of America, and the Fab Files will celebrate the occasion with an episode that will first feature the majority of their debut appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show from February 9th, 1964, and then will play in its entirety their first U.S. concert that took place in Washington, D.C. on February 11th. This episode is the first of three episodes that will look at the Beatles’ live performances, an often underrated aspect of their legacy. Live in ’64 on this week’s Fab Files Saturday February 8th at 3 PM (EST) and late Sunday February 9th at midnight (EST) on WETS HD2. This looks great. I’ll definitely try to tune in this week. I don’t suppose there’s an archive of past episodes somewhere? (If so, my apologies. I would have overlooked it while skimming the first 4 pages) Podcasts have spoiled me, I’m afraid.
Sadly, (very sadly) there is not. I asked the same thing upthread a little. Something with the copyright on the songs they play that won’t work if there’s a podcasted version. Really sucks

Thank you! I saw that while double checking after I posted. Must have got a little reckless with the Page Down key before. Midnight show it is, I guess!

Faceo pretty much nailed it. On a podcast, we’d have to pay copyright fees, and the Beatles aren’t cheap. Otherwise, every Fab Files episode would be podcasted. Apologies for that, but our little East Tennessee public radio station isn’t quite ready to fork out that amount.

No worries! I just keep odd, inconsistent hours so podcasts and on demand streaming are my best chances of seeing or listening to anything. Looking forward to the show this week!

Wait , you’re in Tennessee? i assumed you were somewhere in Pennsylvania after I saw your last avatar.
And I’m realizing that a) the station refers to being in Tennessee, and b) you’ve had “Mountains of East Tennessee” as your location the whole time. I feel stupid

From the Delaware Valley area originally, hence the Phillies avatar. I’ll be putting up Phillies and Eagles avatars from time to time, I’m sure. And you’re not stupid.
