Christmas Time Is Here Again , and the Fab Files will celebrate that holiday spirit this weekend with Christmas songs from Paul, John and Ringo and a New Year’s song from George. We will also play several of the special Christmas messages the Beatles used to send to their fan club members on those cheap little flexi disc records. A Beatle Christmas, on this week’s Fab Files Saturday December 21 at 3 PM (EST) with a re-broadcast late Sunday December 22 at midnight (EST) on WETS HD2. See the very first post in this topic for info on how to pick up the show online! And now Fab Files is on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/FabFilesonWETSFM

On this week’s Fab Files we look back at 2013 with some of the best selections from episodes that made their debut this year. So if you missed the episode on Paul’s New album, or the episode on Dark Horse Records, or the episode on Mono vs. Stereo, we’ve got you covered. There’s even cuts from an episode that was supposed to air, but didn’t! (And there’s a good reason for that, too. Let’s just say Obama is involved.) Best of 2013, on this week’s Fab Files Saturday December 28 at 3 PM (EST) with a re-broadcast late Sunday December 29 at midnight (EST) on WETS HD2. On this week’s Fab Files we look back at John Lennon ‘s incendiary 1970 interview for Rolling Stone magazine that’s known nowadays as the Lennon Remembers interview. John spills his guts on life as a Beatle, why he wants to be a fisherman, why Yoko doesn’t get enough credit… and curses. A lot. While the language is bleeped out, younger listeners should seek parental approval before tuning in. Lennon Remembers, on this week’s Fab Files Saturday afternoon January 4 at 3 PM (EST) and late Sunday night January 5 at midnight (EST) exclusively on WETS HD2. Is that midnight going from the 4th to the 5th, or the 5th to the 6th?Edit: Never mind, I should have looked at the first post first!
5th to the 6th. I actually hate that time slot, as it confuses people, and eventually I might have it changed to an easier one, but for now, it’ll do…

Probably old observations to long-timers, but here are my thoughts about today’s show.
Please tell me Yoko has not done a remix of a Lennon-McCartney album.
If John was so mad at Paul, why can he recall so clearly the lyric “sees the sun going down?” Just seems like a funny one for him to recall.
When John was saying something about needing to see his garden and green grass, it’s like he was asking Yoko if he really did need to see it. Like he didn’t know within himself whether he needed to see it or not; he needed her to tell him (or at least reconfirm) that he needed to see it.
John kind of got a dose of his own medicine during those live, loud concerts. He wanted people to listen to them/hear their singing and music. Just like his teachers wanted him to listen to them. It isn’t fun when you’re the one trying to get a message across and no one seems to be paying real attention.

I had the book with the transcript of that interview – it may still be somewhere in the garage – but as seasoned readers know the spiders out there aren’t letting me get close enough to check.
While it was an interesting read I suspect the answer to most of the questions would have been quite different if they had been asked two years later.

Uh-oh. Sorry about that. I didn’t even think about my babbling being a spoiler. Glad you aren’t really bummed, but I will be more careful in the future.
I always set my alarm on my cell phone to remind me of the time so I can get to the site to listen.

Siri’s reminding me at 11:50 to listen to “the phone files” Guess it won’t recognized “Fab”.

Fab Files in Bed. Sounds like something that belongs on the Playboy Channel.
But seriously, glad you’re able to catch it now.

Perhaps an inspiration for a show about the bed-in for peace…unless you’ve already done one.

On this week’s Fab Files we look at the interview John and Yoko did with RKO Radio on December 8th, 1980, exactly 10 years to the day after his Lennon Remembers interview from last week. While last week’s show saw a bitter, angry and vulgar John, this week we hear a happier, more relaxed and better speaking John wax poetic on his life with his son Sean, what band drove him back into the recording studio, and his hopes for the future. This interview was recorded mere hours before his tragic death. The RKO Interview, on this week’s Fab Files Saturday January 11 at 3 PM (EST) with a re-broadcast late Sunday January 12 at midnight (EST) on WETS HD2. Really enjoyed the episode, although I would have enjoyed more of you talking, wetsroosa. Like if you stopped it after every topic and provided comments, rather than the interview, with you talking halfway through. I want to hear your analysis of things! I don’t know if it was just this show where that happened, or if that’s what it’s supposed to be. But I did really enjoy it, and I’m absolutely going to listen again. Good job!

This upcoming episode is similar to last week’s. Ordinarily I speak before and after a song or will play a couple of songs that tie together and then speak; in the case of the John interviews, I figured the best approach was to let the man himself do most of the talking. I appreciate those who wish to hear my viewpoints and usually I will provide them, and after this week’s, the episodes will be back to the normal “preview the song- play song- talk about song you just played” approach.
I do appreciate you tuning in (trust me, I appreicate every listener I can get- I don’t take it for granted) and hopefully you can stick around, as I’ve got some good (and timely) topics coming up in the next few weeks!

On this week’s show we look at the recently released album On Air- Live At The BBC Volume 2 which is a followup to 1994’s Live At The BBC (which is now Live At The BBC Volume 1). It’s more previously unreleased gems and goodies from our Fab Four during their numerous appearances on the many shows the “Beeb” had on their airwaves. Most of the music is from Volume 2, but there will be a few tracks from Volume 1 on this week’s show as well. Live At The BBC Volume 2 on this week’s Fab Files Saturday January 18 at 3 PM (EST) and late Sunday January 19 at midnight (EST) on WETS HD2.
