So, after I posted that baby video on Derail, I was thinking…we don't really have a thread for random unconnected Beatles videos, like interviews, home movies, fan stuff, etc. So I made one.
My first video: George in 76 watching a performance clip of This Boy . It made me tear up. Very beautiful.
If you've got a vid, post it here.

"What happens to them?" insisted Milo.
"Oddly enough, they often grow ten times the size of everyone else," said Alec thoughtfully, "and I’ve heard that they walk among the stars."

I just found some incredible new footage of Ringo playing in the Abbey Road studio’s…it’s amazing!

Rube, BongoI just uploaded this to YouTube. It’s silent footage of The Beatles (and Pattie, Cynthia, Jane, Marianne, Maharishi) in Bangor, north Wales, in August 1967.
Years ago a former colleague at the BBC gave me a DVD-R containing this footage. Some of it has appeared in documentaries and news reports over the years, but some of it is, I believe, previously unseen. I completely forgot I had it until the new Twitter account BeatlesWales started posting Wales-related content (I live in Cardiff, the capital).

I Beatles in Ritiro (The Beatles in Retreat) was a half-hour 1968 Italian documentary made by their “Channel 7 News”. They’d arrived late to Rishikesh, but it worked in their favour as they got exclusive access. Filmed on 15 March, some of the footage is familiar, some less so.
An upgrade of the documentary appeared on YouTube a few days ago. Very good quality, though some of the Beatles’ bits are out of synch. The narration is, obviously, in Italian (though if you turn on the captions there is a, not terribly accurate, English translation), but it’s worth it for the footage.

My hot take is that after the Beatles split they went down the paths of spiritualism, solipsism, alcoholism, and Paul McCartney

This is quite a nice interview with Paul
does anyone know anything about the TV special they mention at the end? Called something like “BBC Paul McCartney Intimate Details”

Broadcast on 29 August 1986 on BBC1 under the name McCartney. Running to an hour, it consisted of an interview with Paul conducted by (mainly radio) broadcaster Richard Skinner, filmed at Abbey Road in Studio 2 on 18 July. The interview was intercut with various short music clips, many of which were quite rare at the time.
In November 1987 it was released on video as The Paul McCartney Special.
An interesting sidenote is that it’s been suggested Skinner was the person who broke the news of John’s murder to Paul in an early morning phone call while working for BBC Radio One’s Newsbeat.
(Another pointer for you, @meaigs, is that there are interview threads for each Beatle near the top of the first page in their individual sections, as well as interview threads for 2 or more Beatles and for people who knew them near the top of the first page in the Yesterday … and Today section. Hope these pointers are helpful rather than being seen as annoying.)

Haven’t quite figured out where the first gif came from, but there may be something here pertinent to @meaigs research.

Ok, back to the fainting gif. @Pennys Poppies, there appears to be a series of 3 gifs derived from the original video.
As it turns out, it was the first gif with the newspaper that was key to figuring out why Paul was swooning. Here is a picture taken later from inside the car:
The picture is captioned “For the first time ever, Paul McCartney makes the front page of Daily Mirror newspaper dated 13th November 1963″.

I’ve not seen this since I was 12, when it first aired live on SNL In May ’80: Paul McCartney , “122 days since he last smoked marijuana”, does an interview live via satellite from London with “Father Guido Sarducci”, who shows up five hours late due to a time zone error. He finally awakens P&L (at about the 44 minute mark), who try to promote and premiere the new single and video “Coming Up “, but Sarducci only wants to talk about the Japanese pot bust, to their comic annoyance.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Wow, luv it!That’s quite a find Penny Pops…it’s like a mini Hard Day’s Night (filmed 5 months prior to the start of production). Isn’t it amazing how intensely documented the lads lives were? You can pick almost any date over an 8 year or so period and track down what they were up to.

@sigh butterfly That’s a great footage, indeed ! It makes me thinks about all the photos and movies took by some people in the crowd which we haven’t discovered yet. All that stuff sleeps in old cardboard boxes.

Maybe you super-sleuths can help me out with this one. These gifs are from a performance of “I Wanna Be Your Man ” in Paris (1965). I’d love to see the whole video, but I can’t find it.
I may have ended up on tumblr after all, send help
