I’m watching a Beatles documentary where a music expert has just told me that ‘Please Please Me ‘ repeats the opening music line twice which is quite something considering if you actually listen to the track it repeats it once.
Its a documentary where it has so many errors and people you could slap for being prats you have to keep watching. And i’ve had to watch Pete Best whine yet again about not knowing why he was sacked. If the record producer says you’re crap, we’re getting someone else in asap then there’s your first clue ya numpty!! He even told you to your face you weren’t good enough for the record. Go and read ‘Tune In’ and then shut the hell up.
One redeeming feature is the appearance of Andy White – tho he did say he drums on the album version of the song ‘Please Please Me ‘ and Ringo is on the single.
Brags about having live performances of tracks. It does. Sadly they last for about 3 seconds before someone talks over it and it fades out.
I shouldnt watch these.
Ok. Get me a large hammer so i can break the TV. This is getting worse and more annoying, hard to think that’s even possible.
50 minutes to get to ‘PPM ‘, 3 minutes for the two follow-up albums, “getting into the movies next” covers the ‘A Hard Days Night’ film. Surprised they even bothered to mention ‘Beatles For Sale ‘. Ooh someone is holding the ‘Rubber Soul ‘ album after 43 seconds on ‘Help !’.
Someone just stated that George Martin first started helping the Beatles arrange songs and score instruments on tracks for ‘Rubber Soul ‘.

They broadcast a documentary called “How The Beatles Rocked The Kremlin” on my local public station this morning. Very interesting look (among other topics) at what being a Beatle fan was like for Russian Fabs during the cold war. Talk about changing the world!!

I picked up The Compleat Beatles on VHS from an estate sale today for a dollar. In the fourteenish years I’ve been a Beatles fan, I’ve never seen it once. I own a VHS-to-DVD player/converter, so I’ll probably put it directly into a digital format the first time I watch it.
I'm Necko. I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.
I'm also ewe2 on weekends.
Most likely to post things that make you go hmm... 2015, 2016, 2017.

I grew up watching that constantly, i think it came out in 1982. It has errors (what doesn’t?) but the music is actual Beatles, and often complete instead of being short extracts, and its the best documentary i’ve seen on the Beatles outside ‘Anthology’. I still have my video copy.

Two Beatles documentaries to premiere at the Venice Film Festival
https://ruralradio.com/kneb-fm…..d9ff23afb/
July 23rd, 2024 | ABC News Radio
The lineup for the upcoming Venice Film Festival was just announced, and it includes two Beatles-related documentaries. One to One: John and Yoko, directed by Kevin Macdonald and Sam Rice-Edwards, focuses on the relationship between John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
A previous announcement about the film describes it as “a moving look at the couple’s life upon their entry into a transformative 1970’s New York, exploring their musical, personal, artistic, social, and political world.” It centers around the pair’s 1972 One to One Concerts, which were Lennon’s only full-length performances after The Beatles’ 1970 breakup. They featured Yoko, The Plastic Ono Band, Elephant’s Memory and special guests.
The other is Things We Said Today , from Andrei Ujica. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film focuses on The Beatles’ first North American tour, which happened in 1964.
The Venice Film Festival will take place Aug. 28 to Sept. 7.
