I was listening to the Beatles Channel yesterday, and they were playing the results of the “Greatest Hits from the Later Years” poll. I was thrilled to discover that three of the top six songs are George songs!
This is what I heard:
2. Hey Jude
3. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
4. Let It Be
6. Something
The George songs also happen to be in my order of preference, and two of the ones I voted for (Hey Jude and While My Guitar Gently Weeps ) ended up in the top ten.
This station is the best!
Love one another.

Shame on you @Bongo, learner drivers shouldn’t be distracted by music while they’re driving! You need to be concentrating at all times.
Ain’t that right, Fiddy?

Well then, I wont mention that in my road trip last week (where i drove 90% of the time) my dad and I did a Beatles marathon across the week… (Did everything but Abbey Road and Let it Be, and the associated singles)
I’m a learner driver… shush!

I’m a little ashamed of the fact that I almost turned a petty argument into a full-on screaming match when my friend wanted to turn off the Beatles Channels and play a driving playlist she had made whenever our friend was giving us a ride home from band practice. I love the Beatles Channel a little too much maybe.

I’m listening to “All You Need Is Love – The Top 50 Beatles Love Songs” on the Beatles Channel for Valentine’s Day (even though it’s February 15, oh well). I’m up to #28, P.S. I Love You. I do really enjoy listening to Channel 18 on SiriusXM, it was one of my first introductions to the Beatles, like many others. Listening to “8 Songs a Week” every Friday is something that I look forward to every week.

My 2013 truck had Sirius XM automatically, so in 2018 I began to listen to it for a half hour on the way home. I ended up hearing all sorts of Beatles songs I’d never imagined. I only had the Red and Blue albums, Hard Day’s Night, Help !, Rubber Soul and Revolver . One evening I was introduced to and listened to Abbey Road , loving it.
The display on the truck limited the titles to about 16 characters, so I became intrigued when it only read “Maxwell’s Silver” or “Octopus’ Garden” (I thought of it as a sequel to Yellow Submarine ). The channel not only plays Beatles, it also plays solo material, influences (like Chuck Berry), “Fab Four” – where you the fans can phone in and talk about your favorite four tracks, “Lives On…” is where snippets of people praising the Beatles plays, “24/8” is where snippets of songs play (as an ad).
Sometimes there are alternate takes played from the 50th’s or Anthologies. Once, I even heard “Christmas Time (Is Here Again)” and had to drive around the block a few times just for it. On October 9, 2023, they played demos and alternate versions of Free As A Bird and Real Love for John Lennon ‘s birthday.
Last, but there’s more; Sundays has “Northern Songs with Bill Flanagan” – He tells a story through Beatles and solo Beatles songs. I only remember from a few years ago he told a story about a marriage.
