Around The Beatle is an okay show, the guest performances aren’t great and the Shakespearean sketch is pretty lame but watching the Beatles in the wings joining in is fun – and we do get the rarity of all four Beatles on separate lead vocals performing Shout (just ignore the crummy Anthology edit).
Another unexciting titbit.
My library had an 18 minute video of the Beatles music set from, i was always getting that out – this being the days before we had the net and even with that it would have taken ages to watch an 18 minute video.
Is anyone else having problems watching the video in the link, keeps going to adverts for me?

I’ve got a DVD of Around The Beatles. A couple of people who worked on the show left comments on the page I wrote about it, and I put them in touch with each other. It turned out one had a pristine audio recording, the other had a video with bad audio, and they merged them together. It was nice to get a copy, but then I realised the whole thing was on YouTube anyway!

I have this on an original VHS tape I’d bought in the early 1990s…memories! I still remember buying it at the store when I was visiting my grandparents and watching it in their living room after dinner.

I watched the Around The Beatles video, and yes it does keep going to advertisements…I finally realized that if you hit “play” every time it starts to switch over it immediately skips the ad.
I think the best parts were Cilla Black and The Beatles. I thought Cilla Black’s “Heat Wave” was pretty good.

I found it interesting that in the little play they performed, John and Paul were lovers, and also Paul died.
Whoa, they started planting Paul is Dead clues earlier than we originally thought!
