This book has just been released and I’ve bought a copy. It covers Australia and New Zealand and I was at the Dunedin, New Zealand concert (well, one of two), June 26 1964.
What a night for 15-year-old me!!!

I went to NZ earlier in the year and went inside a glow worm cave that the tour guide said the Beatles also visited. Pretty cool to stand in there, imagining the lads doing so all those years ago. Being an Australian this book definitely has interest to me. I’ll look into a purchase.

Yes, you’ll love this! The book is largely about the Australian part of the tour and either one or both of the authors is Australian.
It ain’t cheap and it’s large!
I find it rather hard to believe the Beatles had any time out to visit a glow worm cave, considering the whole security shemozzle! NZ was just not prepared for the reaction of the fans, which is a bit hard to believe, but the cops thought we were too staid to react like fans did overseas. Wrong!! The cops feared for their lives and the Beatles were not impressed with the poor security themselves. Also – glow worm caves in the middle if winter doesn’t sound very inviting!
But – hey, what do I know! I’d be delighted to know they did get out of their hotels and did a bit of sightseeing!
