Hi.
What’s a good book about the Beatles, retracing their story, not too long, with pictures? The ones I’ve come across on the web seem terribly long (Shout, Bob Spitz’s). I don’t have time to read 600 pages, and I have no interest in having a book in my library just for show. Maybe a collection of anecdotes would do the trick.
Being on a Beatles freaks’ site, I’m well aware you all have you favourite, and are more than rdy to cut each other’s throats to defend your opinion. Avoid doing that, as I’m not interested in THE ultimate book on the Beatles, and keep your advice simple.
Many thx.

Based on your criteria, I would suggest The Complete Beatles Chronicle by Mark Lewisohn. It is a manageable size and tells their story in chronological order, providing fairly accurate synopses of events. It has been out for years now, meaning it is available in many formats that fit many budgets.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.
