Throughout history there are ample examples of the Catholic and Protestant leaders, all the way thru the Church, not following the teachings of Christ. I suppose the lesson is we all fall short no matter who – you’d expect tho that some of the things were obvious no-nos tho, and some things not many people would think of doing or want to do.

I don’t know if this has been discussed before, but do you think Lewisohn could get Jane Asher to speak? Probably if she could understand the importance of this work?
Doubt it as she seems to have decided that what she experienced during her time with Paul is private and therefore not wanting to discuss; if anyone was to get her to speak tho it would probably be Lewisohn.
Maybe if we all pledge to buy her cookbooks and cakes she will.

It truly is worth it because:
1) it’s a cracking read,
2) it has so many things that you won’t know (yes I thought that was impossible too),
3) if you buy it, he might be able to afford to do his research quicker therefore releasing the second volume sooner SO BUY IT.

Boy – you’re gonna….
Not Carry That Weight as you’ve finished reading the book and have went back to reading something light to carry like ‘Topsy and Tim’ for a long time.
A bit of a mouthful that line but a keeper if you ask me.

Someone – perhaps me – speculated that same idea in the thread on Paul’s NEW album.

I read it here. Lewisohn himself thinks it is:

As far as I know, there was nothing so damaging about him or John’s early days in the book.

I’m not sold on it being aimed directly at Lewisohn. I’ve assumed it was a dig at all the Beatles historians, ML included.
Even if ML was in Macca’s sites (it is possible), it wouldn’t have been over something “damaging”. As you say, there wasn’t anything written like that in the book. It would have been over discrepancies between Paul’s memory of events and “facts” uncovered by authors. The lyrics seem to lean that way.
Now everybody seems to have their own opinion
Of Who did this and who did that
But as for me I don’t see how they can remember
When they weren’t where it was at

Perhaps. I guess it’s got to do something with ML uncovering that Paul & John had met before the Woolton fete when John worked as a milkman. I read it on some site that he was pretty keen on not letting this bit out, which is why he tells the story in the company of only “some” people. If ML is one of those “some” people, Macca would’ve seen it as a betrayal of trust.

Why? What’s the point of that secrecy when it doesn’t help your case that you remember better than anyone? Why tell someone who you know is going to do a biography and get mad at them for writing it down? I get that this is reactionary with little logic involved, but it’s still weird.
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.
