You lucky Britains and your Krimble devices -grumble grumble-
I did manage to read like a 200 page preview of the extended edition, up to the point where everybody’s parents start dying off. Lewisohn is my kind of historian, and it makes me all the madder that I might have to wait five years for a proper release over here. By that time I could go to Britain, get a Krimble device, and download it from New Zealand or something.

I have the book. I cant imagine reading such a huge volume on a kindle or ipad/pod/phone. There is a wonderful unexplainable thrill in having to shuffle thru to the notes section and back again every Now And Then and being able to feel your way thru all the pages in your hands and realise once again just how thick and wonderful this tome is. You cant get such an experience through reading it in an ebook and for me thats part of the thrill; its not your ordinary Beatles book so why downgrade it to a quick swish through a cold hard tablet.

Price wasn’t the issue – each extended edition part was around £30.
Convenience is – carrying both volumes in your hand wherever you desire is bloomin’ marvellous, especially when you have a bad back like me, it’s not easy holding heavy books for any length of time.
Point taken though, I do have Vol 1 on my bookcase. Actually, two copies as I bought another one for Mark to sign.

I have the first volume in a big book cover case type thing to protect it and take it wherever i go – but i’ve been taking books with me wherever i go for years. A very good trait i got from my father who always had a book on him.

Renowned Beatles author Mark Lewisohn was a guest at BeatleWeek in Liverpool this year, and had a session called “Ask Mark”, a revival of his BeatleWeek sessions in the eighties. Here, he discussed not only volume one, “Tune in” of his Beatles biographic trilogy in the making, but also revealed a bit about the two upcoming volumes.
As a matter of fact, the first question posed was “How’s book two coming along?”. Lewisohn is still thinking that volume two will come out in 2020. He is still researching, and writing hasn’t started. There is already enough material to write a substantial volume two, which he could start writing right away, but he hasn’t yet turned every stone, and wants to be absolutely correct before he starts the writing process. And he says that he is discovering something new almost on a daily basis, so it does indeed look as if there are still a lot of unturned stones. Volume two will be completely different from what he first imagined it would be, and he still has no title of volumes two and three. And no, they will not be called “Turn on” and “Drop out”.

Nah, I just have the basic one. That was what was available at the store… 🙁
Oh, btw, I listened to one of Lewisohn’s interviews, and I’m deeply regretting it now coz everyone is talking about George Martin-Judy angle, and it’ll take ages for me to get there! And I don’t feel like skipping, or reading just that part like I did with Deathly Hallows ending…
Can anyone give a subtle hint as to what it could be without giving away the whole thing, kinda Norwegian Wood -ish?

Think of your standard soap opera plot.
