I’m gutted about the further delay to this work, but I know it will be more than worth it.
Yeah, that’s how I feel as well. I know it will be worth it, but gutted nonetheless.

I’m sure you’re not. How was it?? My sister is going to med school soon and she’s nervous about the amount of work too.
Well, the first few days aren’t bad. You just have to get into a schedule, which is the toughest part, and MAKE yourself do the work. Today, I came home after lectures. I rewatched the lectures (they’re recorded and put online), and took notes on them. It took about double the time of the recording for me to watch them. Then, I read my Team Based Learning exercise, which is an article for our group work tomorrow. Now, I’m about to read an article for my Independent Learning. Then, I have to give a glance to tomorrow’s lecture.
All in all, I’ve spent about 4 hours studying today…it will only increase, I know!
Tell your sister I said good luck, and if she needs any advice, I can message you my email address.

The latest I’ve heard is that this is delayed until spring 2013…anyone else hear this as well?

I was disappointed by a big fat book (must have been like 900 pages) called simply “The Beatles”.
I always check out the index of a book that’s supposed to be about anything historical. I looked up “LSD” in the index.
Nothing.
That’s ridiculous.

The last we heard was Autumn 2013.
Thanks to meanmistermustard for providing the link to the story in a previous post.

Hi all,
Whilst I fear that Zig is correct, Dr Beatle’s summation of spring 2013 would make more sense as Volume One is complete. Had it not been so, I would have accepted the “wanting to do the job properly and leaving no stone unturned” argument. The fact that the first volume is now presumably in the hands of Little Brown renders the whole thing absurd. For one thing, the publishers surely can’t be fact-checking as no-one is better informed on the subject than Lewisohn. Also, all points of controversy (sacking of Pete Best, apart) occurred later in the Beatles’ story and thus wouldn’t be in Volume 1.
On the basis of blind faith, I’m with Dr Beatle!
I can’t remember if this has already been mentioned here, but there will be two editions of each book – a normal trade edition, and an expanded supergeek version that’ll probably cost a fortune but will inevitably contain more previously unknown facts, quotes, details and minutiae than could fit into a normal-length book. Apparently Mark has sympathetic publishers who totally get what he’s trying to do, and it’s fantastic that he’s able to produce precisely the books he wanted.
Personally I don’t care how long it takes. I’ll wait. I’m only 36 – plenty of time
Can buy me love! Please consider supporting the Beatles Bible on Amazon
Or buy my paperback/ebook! Riding So High – The Beatles and Drugs

I did not know about the 2 different editions…of course I’ll have to plump for the extravagant one, but I’m surprised there’ll be a normal one anyway…who else but super Beatles-nerds is going to buy this anyway?

Thanks for sharing the article, Joe. I had to pause after reading on of his quotes…
“One of the things for me is I don’t want to die knowing that I could or should have done this in my lifetime and made sure that the Beatles history is going to be told properly for really the first time and didn’t do it”
After reading that, I was thinking, “One of the things for me is I don’t want to die before this _ _ _ _ing book comes out!”
After all, I am not a young man of 36 like our esteemed Administrator.

According to yesterday’s Guardian, Vol 1 is out in October (my guess is John’s birthday), but Wikipedia is saying August
Which means it’s probably going to be released in December

2014.
Just get a move on and release the damn book. Do we really need a rival with Paul and his Archive albums reissue thingy in the ‘Most Drawn Out Release(s)’ category?

Just at a rate that will have those who bought the remastered Band On The Run aged 12 from their paper round money paying for the final archive release from their weekly pension.

Good point! And never mind buying it again, but going broke in the process! These Lewisohn Beatles books are going to have a hefty price tag, too, but they’ll be worth it. I’m assuming there will be new/rare photos in them as well? I sure hope so!

You know, you guys are gonna feel so much WORSE when Volume 1 finally comes out, and you devour it…and it ends in 1963 or whenever! And then you gotta wait another year or more in agony like all those LOTR/Harry Potter fanatics.
The way I see it, there’s ALWAYS something new to anticipate, if not the Lewisohn book then the McCartney reissues or something else. As long as I know something’s actually in the works and not just a vague fantasy, I can deal with it. (And as I’ve said before, I’m a lot closer to pension-age than meanmistermustard!)
Personally, I’m kinda dreading the actual physical size of this Lewisohn magnum opus. It’s clearly not gonna be the kind of thing I can take with me to read on the bus!
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
