parlance, thanks for sharing, you’ve certainly had some great Beatles experiences these past several months!
You’re welcome. It’s been unreal!

^I can bet! For me personally, just even seeing Paul in concert this past summer still seems unreal. I do hope Ringo plays some gigs close enough so I can go see him, too, though that seems unlikely as I think he’s setting up to do a Vegas residency this winter.

Right now, there are just a couple of concerts scheduled in Vegas. He said if he does a residency, we’re at least two years away from that.

Jeezus, he’s gonna be 75 by the time that comes to pass.
Getting back to the Lewisohn book, I am dying for Christmas so I can get my mitts on the deluxe edition of the UK book…I fully intend to read (and review) it all over again. The mind boggles at what is contained in all those extra pages!

I’ve still got 16 days to wait until the deluxe is issued, then it has to be sent in the post so it probably won’t be here until 3 Saturdays time at the earliest. Hopefully this wont turn into a story befitting of Please Mister Postman .

You had better hope they don’t get one of those Apple clowns to deliver it ….

Hum, steal his costume/business suit and waltz right back into Apple headquarters like you know what you’re doing. It works in the movies all the time.

Heaven help me if it was. Would turn up 3 years later with a new cover and the deliverer expecting a large fee for delivery.

My copy was delivered today as well! I’m so excited that I don’t even want to start reading it, if that makes any sense.
After dinner, prior to opening the Amazon box, I washed my hands at least 3 times just to be sure I did not smudge it on the first day. What the heck is wrong with me?

My super duper deluxe whoop-dee-doo version will be arriving from Amazon UK sometime between 20 and 22 November. I may need to don a HazMat suit prior to opening this one.

Finally! I am picking up my copy of this book in an hour. So excited!
I’m excited for you. I’ve only read the first 25 pages and have learned so much I did not know before.
This…is…awesome.

I have a random question. How are people storing their dustjackets, if you do store? I don’t want it to get mushed or torn, and this one’s going to take a while to read, so I’m just keeping it in the Amazon cardboard box until I finish it.
Do you have a method for keeping your dustjackets for collectible books nice, or do you just keep them on the book while you read?

I always keep them on the book when I read, but I’m super anal about my books so it’s always alright.

Parlance,
I work in a library, so get to cover all my nice books in clear-plastic bookcovers/jackets. That way I can keep the dustjacket on even when reading and it stays in perfect condition. (In fact, it often looks better than new because the jackets almost make the covers more vivid in some ways).
If you don’t happen to work in a library I believe you can buy rolls of the book covering materials in decent stationary shops. With something as weighty and lengthy – and white! – as Tune In, I’d highly recommend it. The dustjacket on my copy of Anthology is still flawless even after years of flipping through the book with it on.
p.s. If you do buy some, I’d suggest you practice on another couple of books to begin with. I can practically do it with my eyes closed now, but it’s a bit tricky to begin with!

The covers really are wonderful. They do make the dust jackets look better. I’ve worked at my library for 17 years. Thus far I have successfully refused to learn how to put them on books. It looks so complicated. I have trouble getting call number labels on straight. My staff and student workers have learned to not allow me near the processing station.
