From the Tune In website
We are delighted to announce that the extended special edition of The Beatles: All These Years (Volume One: Tune In) is now available for fans to order once more, following its initial print-run selling out last year.
Tim Whiting, Publishing Director for Little, Brown Non-Fiction, said:
‘We are aware of the fact that many people did not get a chance to purchase copies of the extended special edition of The Beatles: Tune In. We would therefore like to clarify that we are intending to reprint but that due to the cost of printing the book, we need a certain number of orders before we can do so. We would like to invite readers to place their orders via this link on our website or via Amazon UK. Customers’ credit/debit cards will not be charged until their copy of the special edition has been dispatched.’

I remember a film once that had this line,
“If we build it, they will come!”
These people seem to be saying,
“If you order it, we will publish!”
Feck off! You fecking feckers! You had Mark Lewisohn tell us that it wouldn’t go out of print! Now, because it’s done better than you expected, and two print runs have SOLD OUT, you’re demanding enough proof that it will sell before a third! What it wrong with you people!

That movie is Field of Dreams. Top film
"Life is just a bowl of All-Brann. You wake up every morning and it's there."
Also, the US publishers Crown are watching, thinking: “Well it sold out twice in the UK, although I’d imagine a proportion of those sales were US imports that cut into our own sales. Whaddya reckon, Dave? Can we sell it here, in the country with the world’s biggest concentration of Beatles fans? Nah, you’re right, we’ll stick with the standard edition.”

Hello,
I am new here and was wondering if any of you have read both the standard and deluxe editions, what’s different? I’m from the U.S. and I can only get the standard version for two reasons:
1. The Deluxe Edition is not available even on Amazon.co.uk
2. It’s too expensive for me to justify
I cannot imagine how Lewishon could write 700 more pages than he had already. In a YouTube video he explains that you get more layers, and in the back of my mind I’m regretting not getting the deluxe one.

Open letter to Mr. Lewisohn:
We have recently learned you may be following these threads about your absolutely wonderful book. If you are reading this, please forgive me for repeating something I posted in the other thread.
It deeply concerns me that the third and final volume will not be published until around 2028. I have to believe you are perfectly aware that those of us born in the 1960’s and prior – those of us that were either growing up alongside the music or the boys themselves – stand a good chance of never seeing it come to fruition. As for me, I was born in November 1963 and have been an avid fan of the Fabs since early 1968 as a four year old (yes, really). That means, if I wish to read the third and final volume, I will have to live until at least age 64 (since my birthday is later in the year). While through the wonders of modern medicine, people are living longer these days, there are no guarantees in life. There is also no guarantee, should I live that long, I will have the mental capacity to understand it or even remember that I once loved the Beatles. This is not a case of “oh, poor me”. It is a grim, real possibility that all of us in my generation and generations before me must face. In your defense, I realize the incredible amount of research, interviews, fact checking, etc… that goes into such an endeavor. If the next two volumes are anything like the first, they will no doubt be worth waiting for…if we should live so long.
In closing; anything you can do to either speed up your writing process or slow down my aging process would be greatly appreciated. You can control only one of these processes. I will do my best to control the other. Thanks for reading.
Always your fan,
Zig
PS: Going forward, I will do nothing in these threads except let everyone know why I love the book.

I’ll give you an example of what I think the difference is like.
Standard edition: ”John and Paul walked past a big house. The weather was nice and it was a Thursday afternoon”
Extended: ”John and Paul walked past a big house with a white fence and a red roof. The weather was soft and sunny, with a nice little breeze and it was around 2 pm on a Thursday.”

I don’t know if these have been posted before (and I only found out about it yesterday). There are fairly lengthy previews/excerpts from the Extended Special Edition on Google Books. Obviously you don’t get the made-from-the-larvae-of-gilded-silkworms paper quality, and a number of pages are missing.
This is the spoilers thread, right? Here be spoilers.
And if you feel like buying it:
