the slightly naughty line in Back In The USSR , something that never, ever crossed my mind. (Maybe not that hard to figure out once you know there’s a naughty line in there.)
Okay, just reread the lyrics and I see it now.
I’m not sure if I’m more embarrassed about getting it now or missing it all these years.

It’s just a different design @KyleKartan. The green cover is for the North American market (and least) and the photograph cover is for the UK/European market (at least).
Thanks a lot!

I have little interest as I’ve heard most of the stories a thousand times before; Paul woke up and sang Scrambled eggs a thousand times to fix a hole. It gets boring hearing the same old things regurgitated. There was a feature on the BBC about it where they looked at 10(? songs) and I knew 90% of what was written before I had even opened it. Maybe their focus was wrong but why pay for that, especially when I struggle to read books as it is?
Same as with ‘Paul at the BBC’. Was looking forward to it but the focus was wrong for me (mostly Beatles covers) so why bother? I don’t care nowadays about seeing Paul sing ‘Lady Madonna ‘ in 2006 or whenever, I’d prefer to see him doing ‘Once Upon A Long Ago’ in 1987 as it’s far more rare a sight. If I want to see ‘LM’ I’ll watch the Beatles promo. There is so much out there but, certainly with Paul, we get the same old things redone in a different way. I haven’t watched it but what’s the bet on Paul telling us about how he wrote ‘Yesterday ‘ before it’s shown on that tv special?
Man (meaning humanity) has walked on the moon, brought the internet into existence and is now getting to see new Beatles footage from January 1969. Surely someone can think of a new question to ask Paul. {Quickly added. Which isn’t banal crap like ‘What type of toothpaste do you use before going on stage?’.}

We were given this as a Christmas present. Previously having had a quick look in the shop, I thought with the price and wondering how much new stuff there would be, that it would not be good value for money. So I abstained.
But it’s wonderful, it’s beautifully presented with the slip case, the books are gorgeous and there are lots of photos, images I hadn’t seen before. Paul says it was his only way of wanting to do an autobiography, through his lyrics; so his perogative.
It goes really well as a companion set with Linda Mccartney, Life in Photographs. Same quality.

I bought myself a copy of this today with my birthday money
When I first heard of it I assumed (like others above) that it would be the same old stories, but I’ve been hearing snippets that have piqued my interest. I’ve had a quick look, and the graphic design is gorgeous. I’ve already spotted some photos I haven’t seen before. I’m waiting till the kids have gone to bed before I take a long look at it.

I hope you’ll all forgive me if I spam this thread a bit over the next little while.
I’m fascinated by some pages reproduced on page 719 (volume 2). They are listed as “Paris diary” which is very intriguing. I didn’t think Paul kept diaries. Anyway, there’s a page with lots of doodles of possible logos for the Beatles (very cute), but it also has quite a few instances of “the end”. I’d love to know what that’s about.

What year did Paul write about “the end” ?
Now today I find, you have changed your mind
It’s mentioned a couple of times in his 1969 diary, IIRC.
