Hello everyone – new poster from Australia here.

Has anyone read “Miss O’Dell”? I absolutely loved this book by Chris O’Dell – who worked at Apple, was present at the rooftop concert, became close to George and Pattie, and Maureen, was there when George told Ringo he was in love with Maureen, was a bridesmaid at Pattie’s wedding to Eric and vice versa, and of course, was the subject of George’s “Miss O’Dell”. A thoroughly good read and one of the better Beatles books, I think.

Other faves of mine are Pattie’s “Wonderful Today” (some timeline errors in it, however), and Cynthia’s “John” which also features a good Foreword by Julian Lennon. I have devoured many Beatles books – “The Love You Make” by Peter Brown, “Loving John” by May Pang, “Imagine This” by Julia Baird (John’s sister), “Shout” by Phillip Norman, and “The Beatles” by Hunter Davies. I even read a book by Carol Bedford called “Waiting for the Beatles” about life as an Apple Scruff!

In fact, the very first book I read – as a child in the late 60’s – was about the Beatles! The neighbour who gave me that book could never have guessed what she set in motion, as I have never stopped wanting to read more.

After reading this thread, I am going to order some others that I haven’t yet read.

Hey Hey Julia , welcome aboard. I haven’t read that book but will definitely keep an eye out for it.

Just finished Being John Lennon by Ray Connolly. Great book! I would definitely recommend it.
