Well it seems George Paul and Ringo enjoyed Tenerife in 1963, and a book has been published about it.
Here's a Spanish news video about it. They say that Paul almost drowned, got sunburned, and were not allowed to sing in a local pub. (and sorry the video is in Spanish)
Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……

Bop. Bop, cat bop. Go, Johnny, Go.

Would you happen to know why? I'm not much of a spanish person.
Well it was the 60s and Spain was a very repressed country. I guess Franco was still the head of the government, and he was a kind of dictator. Anyway the thing is that everything was highly controlled and censored. When I was a child, TV showed a lot of Spanish movies from the 60s, nice love stories, with harmless boys and virginal girls.
So, no matter how cute the Beatles were then, they were rock and roll and that was like the devil. Of course they played there later, but if you read the articles that Joe has about it, the kids were beaten by the militars, Ringo says that.
