I got super lucky in a secondhand bookshop the other day, and one of my best discoveries was this book. (I can’t tell if it’s the same book as “A Portrait” which is what comes up when I try to Google it).
I’d go so far as to call this essential reading for Beatles fans. Among other things, it adds a fascinating perspective to the breakup.
I really appreciate the warts and all portrait of the McCartneys, and the fact that Paul gave it the “green light” only increases my respect for him.
It’s well-written. I’ve laughed out loud a couple of times, and underlined several passages.
Highly recommended!
