^ I thought it was good not amazing but definitely a good read over a day or two. I read it a while back and I have the worst memory but he compares events in George’s life to his beliefs, he writes about George’s connection with Krishna and a brief history of Krishna and Hinduism. It made me cry at the end

^^ So he gives a biased view of George’s life/spirituality?
I think I’ll still buy it at some point though. If I remember correctly, it’s only about 100 pages or so, isn’t it?

Books ordered a couple of minutes ago they should be here late next week
So I have ordered:
“John” -Cynthia Lennon
“The Private John Lennon : The Untold Story From His Sister”-Julia Baird
“We’re Going To See The Beatles!: An Oral History of Beatlemania as Told By The Fans Who Were There”-Garry Berman
“John Lennon : The Life”-Philip Norman
“Magical Mystery Tours: My Life With The Beatles -Tony Bramwell
“Date With a Beatle”- Judith Kristen
No George books Ah well I might get some at Christmas anyways if you’re wondering wh all the fan books, I really like reading stories of teenage girls (like myself) and teenage boys during Beatlemania because I like reading of what they were like and compare it to what I’m like now And if anybody has read the books above, go ahead and give your opinion on them

I heard about that a few months ago, so once you read it, let me know what you think please! (I couldn’t decide whether it was my thing)
Sorry, haven’t read any of the others (apart from ‘John’ but there’s a thread on that). I think I’ve heard that the Philip Norman book is quite good too.
EDIT: I’ve just thought, isn’t it PN that apparently has this thing against Paul? I haven’t read any of his book so I can’t remember. Anyone?

Apparently he does have a thing against Paul (but I haven’t read the book yet though…) but I think it’s not meant to be as bad as his previous book on John but I don’t know
(^^^ daaw weren’t Dan and Rupert so cute when they were young)Anyways to I will definitately tell you how “Date With A Beatle” gets on it was only €7 so I was like oooooh I MUST BUY! And this my friends is why I have no money!

We’re talking about this in another thread but yes, Norman worships John to the point of considering Paul, George, and Ringo just along for the ride, and paints Paul as alternatively a brilliant manipulator of everyone and everything, and also an incredibly insecure person who can’t even function on a basic level unless he gets reaffirmation on everything he does (including breathing).

Just got a copy of Eight Arms to Hold You: The Solo Beatles Compendium the other day from a friend who gave it to me. What an incredible book! I’ve been after a copy for so long and it’s out of print and hard to find for less than $100, and I got it for free from a kind person. I can tell I’m going to be going through this book over and over for a LONG time!

Boop forgot to tell ye
Julia ‘s book came on Friday morning so I did some study then started to read the book (I’m not meant to be reading them until my exams are over in 2 weeks ) I was just getting into it and was on the part where The Quarrymen were just about to become The Beatles when Mam came in and took my book off me The rest of the books are on their way except for the fan stories about The Beatles which hasn’t been sent off yet :/ Cynthia’s book should be here tomorrow!

Don’t get into trouble – it’s not worth it. Just think that in 14 days time you’ll have several Beatles books to read I can’t read anything at the moment because I have to read this long play that I’ve got an exam on

I read it when it first came out and thought it was interesting. I think the length of time Brown knew the group makes it important.
There is actually a thread here discussing the book.
