I own an extensive number of comic books which have the Beatles mentioned or in them. I have been collecting them for a long time. I am searching for an answer as to when they first appeared or were mentioned in this type of media if anyone knows. I have one from June 1963 but curious if there is an older one somewhere. Would love to know.

There is a book about The Beatles in comics that might tell. I almost bought it once but it didn’t have complete stories, just excerpts. Don’t remember the title.

I’ll make a catalogue of the books I own in the future
I bet you have all been waiting in anticipation for this but I was clearing out my bookshelves today and am getting rid of about 50 of my books so here is my comprehensive list, divided into who/what the book is about. I would give reviews but most of them I read in 2013/2014 i.e. before I had a Goodreads so I don’t remember much about them… will eventually get to another readthrough where I’ll chuck some of them out but for now they’re staying.
Beatles
John, Paul, George & Me – Tony Barrow
Riding So High – Joe Goodden
Magical Mystery Tours: My Life With The Beatles – Tony Bramwell
The Beatles – Hunter Davies
Les Beatles: Les Secrets de Toutes Leurs Chansons 1962-1966 and another edition 1967-1970 – Steve Turner (yes I know this is originally in English but I have the French editions and I want to sound fancy so )
Revolution In The Head – Ian MacDonald (I hated this, I’m throwing it out)
Tune In – Lewisohn
The Anthology
John
The Private John Lennon – Julia Baird (from what I remember it was good, focused more on teenage John obviously)
John – Cynthia Lennon
John Lennon – Philip Norman
Let Me Take You Down – Jack Jones (best book on John’s death around, I think)
In His Own Write
A Spaniard In The Works
The John Lennon Letters (great, great, great)
Memories of John Lennon (the most ‘eh alright’ book to have ever eh alrighted)
Paul
Many Years From Now – Barry Miles
Paul McCartney – Philip Norman
George
I, Me, Mine (the latest release and the 2002 death cash grab)
Working Class Mystic- Tillery (focused more on George’s spiritual and religious beliefs than his life)
Wonderful Tonight- Pattie Boyd
Miss O’Dell – Chris O’Dell (the woman has been everywhere and done everything)
Here Comes The Sun – Joshua M. Greene
Living in the Material World
Ringo
I have no books on Ringo
Misc Beatles
The Beatles Irish Concerts- Colm Keane (really great, comprehensive read)
A Date With a Beatle – Judith Kirsten (really fun read about one teenage girl’s desire to meet The Beatles in February, 1964. I imagine it is very much exaggerated to make it more exciting but a very sweet book.
Very Naughty Boys : The Amazing True Story of Handmade Films – Robert Sellers (I need to read this again but I remember it being very detailed and not having seen a lot of the films on my initial reading I ended up glossing over it a lot)
Summer of Love: The Making of Sgt. Pepper – George Martin (I bought this about 2 weeks before he died, I blame myself for his death)
Stuart Sutcliffe: The Lost Beatle – Alan Clayson & Pauline Sutcliffe (it’s alright)
Baby’s In Black : The Story of Astrid Kirchherr and Stuart Sutcliffe – Arne Bellstorf (graphic novel on those two, it’s cute)
A Cellarful of Boys – Brian Epstein
I have read about 3 other books on Paul but they’re all from the library. I also feel I am missing a few more that are hiding on my shelves but that’s most of them. I also have about 5 random Igloobooks that are your generic Beatles story with pictures hardback and they’re all being given away.
Yay!

There are fakes out there so be careful what you buy.
I found a very good copy of the book years ago in a second hand bookshop in Glasgow. Cost something like £35 (a lot of money for a young teenager) and I had to have it, so, to ensure it was genuine I got the seller to write a receipt saying it was and went away delighted.
Only realised weeks later that I had a useless piece of paper which meant nothing and more than likely a fake. Not that I was too fussed, I got what I wanted – a copy of the ‘Get Back ‘ book. I don’t care if it’s fake as I’m never going to sell it and it looks spectacular.
Whilst on film books, I have two copies of each the novels from the first two films – for some reason I wanted duplicates. They have the deleted scenes from the movie in them (I’m sure ‘AHDN ‘ does) and I read them frequently. Valued them so highly I kept them in a sealed bag where they remain to this day (along with the ‘GB’ book).
