Not too long ago I started trying to compile a list of essential books about The Beatles. There have been so many books on the subject of varying quality. In fact I read that there have been more books written about The Beatles in the last couple of decades than in all the years preceding. For my list I tried to include only books which have on average received a high level of recommendations based on reviews and feedback from Beatle fans. I’ve categorised everything into:
Biography
First Hand Accounts
Photography
Reference
I also categorised them by date published.
So what started out as a list I have now put up as a blog site here http://fabbeatlebooks.blogspot.co.uk/ Any feedback is welcome on books to add or if you don’t agree with any I’ve included. Also just to be clear the books in “First Hand Accounts” category I have included whether they are good or not because I thought they may still be historically important. So there will undoubtedly be some books in this category which have not so great feedback but I think on the whole most of them are very good.
The list is ongoing so I’m still adding as I find more. I’m also trying to add the various different book covers.

Should be in “Pimp Your Stuff”. If you’re asking people to visit your blog, it should be in “Pimp Your Stuff”.

Sorry I wasn’t aware of that. It wasn’t meant to be a cynical ploy to promote a website as I thought it would be something worth discussing and may be of use to some. You can move it if you feel it shouldn’t be here but I’m certain I’ve seen other people’s blogs on here so I’m a little confused.

It should also be noted that this thread discussing the best Beatles books already exists.

Definitely not having a go, @Leppo. I was navigating this forum for the first time a few years back. I still often have to think about where I’m putting something. And it’s often hard to find if there’s already a thread that fits.

There is and are no hard deeply entrenched rules as there are always exceptions. As requested before if posts and threads are possibly requiring moved can the person highlighting it please PM the mods as it makes things so much easier and cleaner over having discussions on the forum which pull threads off-topic.

In post #4, @Ron Nasty links to a general thread to discuss the best Beatles books.
I’ll leave this here for now, but it really should have been posted in Pimp Your Stuff. All new members should get an introductory email explaining this.
As explained elsewhere, moving threads around creates broken links which gets my search ranking penalised by Google, so I’m reluctant to do it too much. I’ll lock this thread.
