For me Pet Sounds is the only non Beatles album to crack my top 5. Is it biased, or just true? My top 5:
The Beatles
Pet Sounds
"The pump don't work cause the vandals took the handles!"
-Bob Dylan, Subterranean Homesick Blues
"We could ride and surf together while our love would grow"

Definitely biased… I’d have The Dark Side Of The Moon in my top five, along with a lot of other Pink Floyd and Beatles albums; I’m definitely biased as well.

The White Album is my #1 album, and Abbey Road , Help !, and Rubber Soul are also in the top 15 or so. But I did read the thread title, so I’ll exclude all Beatles albums (and solo Beatles). I will also pick only one album per band.
1. Tusk- Fleetwood Mac- Though it is their least accessible studio album (besides maybe Future Games), it is my favorite because all 20 songs have a totally different feel- both lyrically and audibly. Like the White Album , it’s very disjointed and uneven, but that somehow makes it more satisfying for me. Also, it is pretty much my go to album whenever I feel upset.
2. A Night At The Opera- Queen- I very, very nearly chose Queen II, as that album is also amazing, but I instead chose this one. The album starts perfectly with the baroque-y piano intro of Death On Two Legs, has a bunch of great songs in between, and ends beautifully with a guitar arrangement of God Save The Queen.
3. Bringing It All Back Home- Bob Dylan- My first Dylan album, and my favorite! Side 1 is great to rock out to, and has some hilarious lyrics. While Side 2 has 4 outstanding acoustic songs.
4. Aqualung- Jethro Tull- Has a nice mix of acoustic and electric songs, and is satisfying throughout. Great songs, great lyrics, great playing.
5. L.A. Woman – The Doors- The Doors’ final album with Jim Morrison is also their best in my opinion, and certainly the bluesiest. The title track, Love Her Madly, and Riders On The Storm are obvious highlights, but I also really like L’America and Hyacinth House.
Honourable Mentions include:
Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots- The Flaming Lips
Houses Of The Holy- Led Zeppelin
Fragile- Yes
Animals- Pink Floyd
Summerteeth- Wilco
In The Court Of The Crimson King- King Crimson
Hunky Dory- David Bowie
Are You Experienced (US Version)- The Jimi Hendrix Experiene

This was an unbelievably difficult decision for me to make, and though this list is most definitely subject to change, here they are in no particular order (also, bear in mind that I hadn’t a clue which remaining Led Zeppelin album to put in the final spot, so I choose the one I did pretty much for the heck of it):
Pink Floyd – The Wall
Led Zeppelin – Led Zeppelin IV
Led Zeppelin – Houses of the Holy
Led Zeppelin – Physical Graffiti
Led Zeppelin – Presence
Runner-ups: All the rest of the Led Zeppelin albums.

@Expert Textpert
I meant to put a question mark at the end.
“Which of your top five albums are not beatles albums?” As you can see from my list most of mine are so I wanted opinions on whether or not it seemed biased.
I see the confusion but i could not figure out how to change the post on mobile. With or without the question mark there are still good repsonses.

I’m just going to make one change, if that’s alright (sorry ).
I’ve decided to replace Presence with Led Zeppelin II because I’ve finally thought it out. Here’s the new list, which I will probably not change ever again :
Pink Floyd – The Wall
Led Zeppelin – Led Zeppelin IV
Led Zeppelin – Houses of the Holy
Led Zeppelin – Physical Graffiti
Led Zeppelin – Led Zeppelin II

Zep II is one of my favorites. Good change. Heartbreaker into Livin Lovin Maid is one of my favorite rock transitions
And I’ll make a top five with no beatles albums because my foolish grammar mistake made me look like and idiot wiyh my original list.
Pet Sounds
The Dark Side Of The Moon
Graceland
Quadrophenia
SMiLE
All Things Must Pass and ram would make the list but I will count them as Beatle records.
