I love On the Way, too. I like the guitar work and the drums, even if they aren't that inventive. Paul's voice is excellent, too. Hell, I love the whole McCartney II album, though I'm a little tired of Coming Up …heard it too many times.

First, I'm not necessarily a fan of “songs” per se – songs as in “a set of music plus lyrics intended to be sung”. I like records! recordings! performances! And 25 is far too few for “all time” – I'm supposed to choose 0.625 songs for every year I've been an avid listener?! Most of which will change anyways! Yeah, right…but whatever. Let's just say these are 25 songs that I'd really, really love to hear right now or almost anytime. (And as usual in these non-Beatles-specific music lists, I'm excluding all Beatles and solo-Beatle music, to be fair.)
1. Donna Summer, “I Feel Love” (called this my favourite single ever many times, so it may as well be true)
2. The Velvet Underground, “Sister Ray”
3. Abba, “Dancing Queen”
4. James Brown, “Mother Popcorn”
5. John Coltrane, “Manifestation”
6. Led Zeppelin, “When The Levee Breaks”
7. Dusty Springfield, “I Only Want To Be With You”
8. MX-80 Sound, “Afterbirth/Aftermath”
9. Billy Preston, “Spacerace”
10. Sir Lord Baltimore, “Pumped Up”
11. Betty Everett, “The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)”
12. Boston, “More Than A Feeling”
13. Mahavishnu Orchestra, “The Noonward Race”
14. Bob Dylan, “Desolation Row”
15. Cyndi Lauper, “Time After Time”
16. The Pretenders, “Brass In Pocket (I'm Special)”
17. Cecil Taylor, “Steps”
18. Bob Seger & the Last Heard, “Persecution Smith”
19. Joni Mitchell, “Carey”
20. The Stooges, “1970”
21. Bow Wow Wow, “Go Wild In The Country”
22. Funkadelic, “Loose Booty”
23. The Kingsmen, “Louie Louie”
24. Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, “The Tracks of My Tears”
25. Jimi Hendrix, “The Star Spangled Banner”

I really wouldn’t describe Nowhere Man as a ballad. It’s folk rock, IMO.
Anyway:
Me: *sees title of thread*
Me: runs away because it will be waaaaaay too hard…

Nowhere Man is a unique one in that it gives off both happy and sad vibes (one of the reasons i like it so much) so it’s debatable whether or not it’s a ballad but because it was on The Beatles Ballads and i needed a place to put it, i labeled it as such.

That said, I’m back. Haven’t paid this place enough attention in a bit. Promise to be better in 2018! Happy New Year!
