So, who here has their own (or is a part of a) band?

I really, really, really, really want my own band but I have a few problems.

  1. I’m not good at socialising.
  2. Nobody I know likes my style of music.
  3. I don’t have any friends.
  4. I don’t know whether I’d like the people I’d recruit.
  5. Or how to recruit them.

I also want to start a band. Have friends that play other instruments, but don’t want to start a band as I’m moving soon.

I saw signs up in my neighborhood looking for people for a band, maybe that’s one way to recruit?

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

How about having an online Beatles Bible band if you can’t find a band in person?

I’m really sorry about all this, by the way.

I wouldn’t have a way to get it to you without a computer. I might be getting a new one soon, but I’m not sure.

On topic: Yes, I have a band! I got together with two of my friends, and we really clicked. We’re not too far in, but it’s really working out. Also, I finally got my acoustic bass, so I’m happy about that

Hi everyone! This is my first post on these forums 🙂 It’s great to meet fellow Beatle fanatics!  I live in the DFW area (Texas) and have been thinking about starting a Beatle cover band for fun. Nothing serious, just getting together on occasion and playing through any random Beatle song. Would anyone be interested or have any advice on how I could go about doing this? I would really appreciate your suggestions!

Hello, @felloutofbed. I really dig your username!

The only forumpudlian in the DFW area that I know about doesn’t play an instrument. Maybe someone else out there is in that area and would like to get together for a jam session.

There’s also the Beatles Bible Band project that you might be interested in.

Thanks AD40 ahdn_paul_06

Yep, a couple of lads and I started a band recently, our current working title is ‘The Offbeats’ because we are a-hard-days-night-john-6 So far we’ve met exactly once and played ‘Wish You Were Here’ by Pink Floyd and ‘Layla’ by Eric Clapton. pattie-boyd_02_gif

So far we’ve a drummer, two guitarists (one of which is yours truly), one vocalist (yours truly), and an engineer.

I’m in a band also, but none of us are particularly… adept, let’s say. a-hard-days-night-paul-10

The instruments we play vary depending on the song but it’s usually something like this:

I Me Mine (guitar, songwroter and a bit of singing)

-Someone else (piano/keyboard, songwroter and another bit of singing)

-Another one (drums)

The only thing we’re good at is songwroting which isn’t very beneficial if we can’t play any bloody songs! ahdn_paul_01

We did a radio jingle once for a domestic cleaning company (very glamorous, I know) but that’s another story that I can’t be bothered to explain right now.

I’m not really in a band, but I’m writing songs with my friend who sings and I play piano and sing.

I was in an a cappella group a few months back called Fermata Thin Air.

Hi @felloutofbed! I don’t live in Texas, but if you want to get a band together, I might be able to give some advice (not that I am one to follow in this regards). Hopefully you know how to sing and/or play an instrument. Get a repertoire of your songs together, know the key, chords, and words. I don’t know what your situation is, but make some musical friends or go to open mic nights. Then interrogate your friends who can play instruments or sing until they’d like to collaborate. Hope this helped. 🙂

Only music can save us.
