I’m 5’7″. Anyone want an inch or two?
Really? I’m 5’7″ and I wish I were an inch or two taller (particularly at concerts).

Being tall is not all it’s cracked up to be. People ask you to reach for things all the time, and you find yourself stooping to look at things and people, and desks are made for people with shorter arms and legs than you, all of which contribue to poor posture, curvature of the spine, and back pain.

I stand 5’11 and a half inches, but if anyone asks, I usually just mumble that I am 6 feet tall. My wife and everybody close to me knows that this is a little white lie, but they keep my secret and allow me to claim 6 feet in height. In other words, I get high With A Little Help From My Friends .

platform shoes are good if you want the high height
This is getting off-topic in the off-topic thread, but I have to be very choosy about my shoes as I have an unusually high arch, and Docs are among the few that don’t make my arch hurt after awhile. Often, the platform shoes are completely flat inside, so no go.

We’re the same height… And I thought it was just me that’s stoops over all the time, everyone’s shorter around me and to look them in the eye I’m constantly bent over a little. It is annoying to the back. And desks do suck at a certain point.

All the men in my family (except my brother who looks like my mom’s dad) are tall and lanky, and all of them end up slightly stooped over in old age. It’s already happened to me. Technology doesn’t help any–always being in front of a computer, looking down at a phone, etc. I pity the kids of today who will grow up always looking down at a cell phone.

Do everything lying down flat on your back and hold the technology so you back don’t get stooped

Me? I’m basically Ringo-height, 5′ 6″ give or take a few millimetres (sorry for mixing Imperial & metric).
And that height remains the same whether I’m “high” or not.

I was the “hey, can you get this for me” guy at every restaurant job I held, and for all three g.f.s, none of whom were taller than 5″2″ (including the one I married). One of my co-workers jokingly called me the Height Whore, and it was true.
