Coming in with a couple more. Forgive if they’ve already been referenced, but worth repeating.
Crimson flames tied through my ears, rollin’ high and mighty traps
Pounced with fire on flaming roads using ideas as my maps
“We’ll meet on edges, soon, ” said I, proud ‘neath heated brow
Ah, but I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now
My Back Pages – Bob Dylan
Who said that every wish
Would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
And look what it’s done so far
Rainbow Connection – Kermit The Frog (written by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher)
Closing time.
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.
Closing Time – Semisonic (written by Dan Wilson)
Hey, I’ve got nothing to do today but smile
The Only Living Boy in New York – Simon and Garfunkel
But now the days grow short, I’m in the autumn of the year
And now I think of my life as vintage wine from fine old kegs
From the brim to the dregs, and it poured sweet and clear
It was a very good year
It was a mess of good years
It Was A Very Good Year – Frank Sinatra (written by Ervin Drake)

‘The 59th Bridge Street Song (Feelin’ Groovy)’ – Simon & Garfunkel
Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin’ groovy.Hello lamppost,
Whatcha knowing?
I’ve come to watch your flowers growing.
Ain’t ya got no rhymes for me?
Doot-in’ doo-doo,
Feelin’ groovy.Got no deeds to do,
No promises to keep.
I’m dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.
Life, I love you,
All is groovy.

“Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time, plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines”
Pink Floyd – Time
Behind Sexy Sadie , The 59th Street Bridge song is my second favorite song. It lasts 2 minutes, the perfect time to brush my teeth and please my dentist. Paul Simon is a lyrical master, and these lyrics never fail to get me thinking about the day in positive way. A great song to wake up to.
Catchy tune too

Cowboy in Me (Tim McGraw)
I don’t know why I act the way I do
Like I ain’t got a single thing to lose
Sometimes I’m my own worst enemy
I guess that’s just the cowboy in meI got a life that most would love to have
But sometimes I still wake up fightin’ mad
At where this road I’m heading down might lead
I guess that’s just the cowboy in meThe urge to run, the restlessness
The heart of stone I sometimes get
The things I’ve done for foolish pride
The me that’s never satisfied
The face that’s in the mirror when I don’t like what I see
I guess that’s just the cowboy in me[snip]
We ride and never worry about the fall
I guess that’s just the cowboy in us all

Jesus, don’t cry
You can rely on me honey
You can combine anything You want
I’ll be around
You were right about the stars
Each one is a setting sun
Tall buildings shake
Voices escape singing sad sad songs
Tuned to chords strung down Your cheeks
Bitter melodies turning Your orbit around
Don’t cry
You can rely on me honey
You can come by any time You want
I’ll be around
You were right about the stars
Each one is a setting sun
Tall buildings shake
Voices escape singing sad sad songs
Tuned to chords strung down Your cheeks
Bitter melodies turning Your orbit around
Voices whine, skyscrapers are scraping
Your voice is smoking last cigarettes
Are all You can get, turning Your orbit around
Our love, our love
Our love is all we have
Our love
Our love is all of God ‘s money
Everyone is a burning sun
Tall buildings shake
Voices escape singing sad sad songs
Tuned to chords strung down Your cheeks
Bitter melodies turning Your orbit around
Voices whine, skyscrapers are scraping
Your voice is smoking
Last cigarettes are all You can get
Turning Your orbit around
Last cigarettes are all You can get
Turning Your orbit around
Last cigarettes are all You can get
Turning Your orbit around

I saw Wilco live once. They blew me away. I immediately went to the record store and bought Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
I was wondering if their music would translate well in the studio. It absolutely does. This is my favorite song by them. Tweedy’s voice is perfectly mellow and meshes in the song perfectly.

You could be my unintended
Choice to live my life extended
You could be the one I’ll always love
You could be the one who listens to my deepest inquisitions
You could be the one I’ll always loveI’ll be there as soon as I can
But I’m busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before

Two songs, the first I may have already posted.
Ups and Downs – Kendall Payne
All that I’ve found through the ups and downs
Is that I’d have it no other way
Life in the raw is both fragile and strong
It’s both lovely and ugly the sameWho can attest that when they’re at their best
Oh their worst is still crouching close behind
It’s coming to peace with the darkness in me
That allows the true light to shine insideSo let it go, for we are still far from home
Though you try and you try to escape
To live and to love will always be dangerous
But it’s better than playing it safeWe are composed of a symphony of notes
Every life is as music to His ears
I’ll play my melody be it haunting be it sweet
Unashamed of what anyone might hearSo when the load breaks your back and your will
You must still keep your heart in the game
To live and to love will always be dangerous
But it’s better than playing it safeSo let it go, when it don’t feel like home
When inside is your only escape
To live and to love will always be dangerous
But would you want it any other way?

Can You Hear Me Now? – Emmylou Harris
O the walls are closin’ in
I can feel it in my bones
Like water risin’ up to my chin
Another long night to be alone
I could go out on the town
Talk too much and laugh too loud
If I’m already on my way down
I might as well just work the crowdCan you hear me now?
O the stories I could tell
Sometimes I really hit my stride
We make our own Heaven and our own Hell
Tryin’ to get across to the other side
But every day ends up the same
One step up, two steps back
Like some old silent movie frame
Zoom in close, then fade to blackCan you hear me now?
How did the load get to be so heavy
I used to wear my trouble like a crown
A bad flood’s poundin’ on the levee
And I’m gonna need some help to hold my groundBut I’m sinkin’ like a stone
To where in solitude this life I’ll spend
In the coldest place I’ve ever known
I’m here just waitin’ until the end
I send up my S.O.S
A message in a bottle set out to sea
It just reads “Soul in distress”
And nobody ever got back to meCan you hear me now?

I love Taylor Swift’s metaphors in her songs.
You paint me a blue sky
And go back and turn it to rain
And I lived in your chess game
But you changed the rules everyday
Wonderin’ which version of you I might get on the phone, tonight
Well I stopped pickin’ up and this song is to let you know why

All is rythm, all is unity
I am laughing, as it’s meant to be
Just amusing, I am using the
Word was given, making harmony
Moving slowly, dancing aimlessly
Endless circle, turning fearlessly
Resurrected, falling down again
Introspective, I’m just stating my view
Now you can choose, what do you feel
Is it for real this time?

Bob Dylan – Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door
Mama, take this badge off of me
I can’t use it anymore.
It’s gettin’ dark, too dark to see
I feel I’m knockin’ on heaven’s door.
I keep meaning to look for more Bob Dylan songs. Same goes for The Grateful Dead.
Grateful Dead – Althea
When the smoke has cleared, she said—
That’s what she said to me:
You’re gonna want a bed to lay your head
And a little sympathy.
My other favourite verse –
Can’t talk to you without talking to me
We’re guilty of the same old thing
Thinking a lot about less and less
And forgetting the love we bring
David Bowie – Space Oddity
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there’s nothing I can do
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much
And love will drive us insane
And we are criminals that never
broke no laws
And all we needed was a net
to break our fall
And I howled at the morning driving rain
But it’s all right now, in fact, it’s a gas
But it’s all right. I’m Jumpin’ Jack Flash
It’s a gas, gas, gas
