And an Elliott Smith song… and a Smiths song… and a Cure song…
A very successful evening indeed

50yearslate, Von Bontee, Beatlebug, WeepingAtlasCedarsI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Wow, and I’ve spent YEARS trying to create new MX-80 and P-Funk fans around here! (A failure)
You created a new P Funk fan in me! Mind, the only album I’ve heard is Maggot Brain, but I do like it very much.

Yay!
I should point out that Funkadelic and Parliament made quite different music, even though they the personnel was the same: Funkadelic had a lot of hard rock and psychedelia in their sound, while Parliament was more funk and dance oriented (and sold more records). As George Clinton put it, the initial rule was no fuzz guitars for Parliament, no horns for Funkadelic, but that guideline was frequently broken (and the respective bands` records became pretty interchangeable by the turn of the 80s.

That’s interesting to know – I had noticed that more of the successful/iconic songs (usually with funk in the title) tended to be on the Parliament side of things.

It didn’t even take any convincing – it was Fiddy’s idea for a game

So I had a dream last night…
I was flicking through some old photos when I came across a photo I immediately recognised as being @SgtPeppersBulldog (looking not all like what I imagine him to look like in real life) sitting underneath some sort of overturned canoe-like structure, which was made of logs and tied together with rope. Possibly on a tropical island? Anyway, as dreams do, the photo came alive and Peppdog and I had an interesting conversation which went something like:
Holey: How’re you going?
Peppdog: You should wake up right now so you can remember this dream.
Holey: You’ve cut your hair – it’s pretty short…
Peppdog: You should wake up right now so you can remember this dream.
Holey: Actually now that I think about it it’s been a while since we’ve seen each other…
Peppdog: You should wake up right now so you can remember this dream.
Holey: Oh alright then…
And then I woke up, and remembered the dream…
