When the teacher plays a Pink Floyd song in class, and you think of that one user who really likes Pink Floyd on the forum.

@Beatlebug

also @Evangeline came to mind.

This site is addicting and it’s odd that more than half of the BBer population is teenagers and young adults (est. 10-30 year olds), as you’d think that the majority of people on here would be people who are in their mid 50’s or older.

A few days ago I was watching tv, and on one show they were arguing about whether something was green or blue. They kept going back and forth, and then I thought: “Eh, no, it’s glas.” a-hard-days-night-george-10

I think it’s very cool that there are so many young Beatles fans among us. Seeing The Beatles though their eyes and reading posts of discovery reminds me of the excitement I went through during that same phase of my life. I also smile when I read posts from the younger set as they discover the greatness of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and many other favorites of mine. It’s like looking in a mirror and seeing myself in my teens. It actually perpetuates my excitement and my enjoyment of this site.

We’ve had many older Fab Fans come and go and that’s OK. Many of us seasoned citizens have lives to live, jobs to do and families to take care of. Spending time on a music forum does not take priority. So, it’s understandable that some older members seem to fade into the sunset. As for me, I don’t spend nearly as much time on here as I used to. But when I do, it is quality time.

Thanks to all, young and old, for making this a great place to hang out. I love it here.

Hardcorely yours,

Zig

…you are reading an article about controversial film critic Pauline Kael (she thought Meryl Streep was a hack who only acted “from the neck up”–what the hell does that mean?), and you see this passage: “In the seventies and eighties, Kael cultivated friendships with a group of young, mostly male critics, some of whom emulated her distinctive writing style. Referred to derisively as the “Paulettes,” they came to dominate national film criticism in the 1990s.”

In contrast, we love our Paulettes; we would never refer to them derisively.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Means she thought she didn’t act with her arms, legs, other body and was just using her faces.

I’ve heard of her before, she wasn’t big on A Hard Day’s Night from what I read.

That’s what got her fired from the critic’s job at McCalls magazine: she hated all the popular movies of the day: Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago, Zorba the Greek, and (gasp!) AHDN .

While in the shower you listen to Beatles songs so intently to think of pictures for the picture/song game that you forget to shave your legs. I’ve done this more times that I’d like to admit. paul-mccartney-facepalm_gif

I’ve also washed or conditioned my hair multiple times because I’ve lost track for the same reason. a-hard-days-night-ringo-14
