This may be a duh comment, but does anyone else notice their forum experiences actually changing/enhancing the Beatle listening experience? Songs that have been emotionally set in stone for years are finding new ways to reach my consciousness. This is the first art based forum I’ve ever participated in, so maybe this is already a well known phenomenon. a-hard-days-night-ringo-13

You wonder about the capitalisation of such TLAs as HKL/hkl TRC/trc ASJ/asj

ASJ is right for me anyways, anyone who calls me “asj”, I spit on their avatars…..or maybe not.

AppleScruffJunior- the caps are there for a reason 😉

My policy is, if the caps are in the username, I capitalise the abbreviation. If they’re not, I don’t. One exception is AD40– Ad40 doesn’t read as well.

But ASJ, trc, HKL, AG… and SG for that matter.

By the by, I prefer SG over just Silly. It makes me feel like a guitar:

…when you know exactly where and when you made you’re first post…

My first post was in the “You know you’re a hardcore Beatles fan when…” thread, 28 July 2015 at 4:21PM, page 126, almost exactly 2 hours after I joined (I joined 2:22PM)a-hard-days-night-john-1

you hear a report about Volvo developing kangaroo detection alarms for their cars and they say they are testing them in the Canberra area.  Guess who would immediately come to mind to a hardcore Beatles Bibler? a-hard-days-night-john-3@trcanberra.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

All I saw in that post was the word ‘Volvo’.

Volvo! Volvo! Volvo! ahdn_george_08

Let it be known that I’m a Volvophile so next time a hardcore BBer sees anything about Volvos they’ll think of Silly Girl. a-hard-days-night-george-10

We have the DVD of the Australian film Strange Bedfellows. They mention Canberra twice – makes me smile both times!

I was wondering why there were more dead kangaroos about the place than usual – I guess they need some fine-tuning.

I had been keeping well away from the news about this as, unlike SG, I despise Volvos.
