Although I think there’s more artists that shouldn’t be in there but are than that should but aren’t, I think that The Wrecking Crew, Toto, Steppenwolf, Mc5, Iron Butterfly, and Alice In Chains should be in there, the first two for being session musicians on so many classic songs, the following 3 for having 1 or 2 classic songs that are well known to this day, and the last because Nirvana and Pearl Jam are already in the HOF so why not AIC.
If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

MC5, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly all definitely in my personal “1968 heavy metal progenitors” hall of fame!

My vote goes to the Moody Blues. I don’t understand why they are seldom in the conversation. Many of their albums are classics and they always showed great songwriting and musical talent.
Is it because Progressive Rock is now considered out of style with today’s generation? Although fans loved them, critics sometimes found them too pretentious. But I guess you can say that about many acts that are in the hall of fame.

Dire Straits is in too. That was my main snub, although Nick Drake is pretty blatant too.

@Evangeline The Monkees have never been put on the ballet. Ever! I’ve heard that Jann Wenner (Rolling Stone founder who also has a high position on the election committee) has a bias and it is conspired by Peter Tork that Jann lobbies for keeping them off the ballot. Jann was also the reason Kiss got in very late into the Hall of Fame

Yeah, most rock critics i read about come off to me as a real prick, especially people like Wenner and Robert Christgau
Here are some other bands i think should be in the hall
Motley Crue, Def Leppard: The only Hair Metal bands that haven’t been laughed off into obscurity, and while I’ll admit that i love hair metal, they are probably the best bands in the genre and the only ones that have held up very well.
Herman’s Hermits: I know they aren’t highly regarded upon as one of the greats like a Zeppelin, or an Elton John, But they were a vital part of the British Invasion. They had the fastest selling single at one point and have sold more records than 2/3rds of the acts in the hall
The Zombies: Almost like the Hermits but with more regard an a critically acclaimed and awesome album to there name
Paul Revere and The Raiders: another hit making 60s band that doesn’t get the recognition they deserve
Sublime: Don’t know if they are eligible yet but they made some of the best music for me in my early adolescence. RIP Bradley
Dick Dale, Link Wray: Came up with some of the most classic surf guitar riffs and influenced Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen
Soundgarden, Alice In Chains , Mudhoney: Without these grunge bands, Nirvana and Pearl Jam might not have gotten as big of a success
Iron Maiden: Metal in the 80s wouldn’t be the same without Maiden!
Ronnie James Dio: An amazing voice that soared higher than most of the people in the hall of fame
Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer: If one of the big 4 is already in there, we need the rest!
