I like looking for new music (preferably free and legal). A couple of my favorite haunts are ear it now and Bootie Blog. Boing Boing can sometimes turn up good things including the great video below. I bought a vinyal copy!

How about the rest of you?

I found a alot of new bands I like from Pandora.  I’m a huge fan of Foutains of Wayne and from listening to FoW radio, I found I like:

Old 97s, Death Cab For Cutie, Jonathan Coulton, Guster, Wilco, The Raconteurs, The Killers, The Essex Green, Phantom Planet, The Alternate Routes, Arctic Monkeys, Jimmy Eat World and Teenage Fanclub.

My students recommendations. I ask them “Who are you listening to now?” I write down the name, I check in youtube, and if I like it, I buy the song in iTunes.

Here comes the sun….. Scoobie-doobie……

Something in the way she moves…..attracts me like a cauliflower…

Bop. Bop, cat bop. Go, Johnny, Go.

I haven’t heard of FoW – I’ll check it out. I liked Pandora for a while, but then they started audio ads. Are they still doing that?

Yeah, Pandora is still doing that, but heay, it’s free.  I also like lastfm.com

I would start with:

Fountains of Wayne: Welcome Interstate Managers

The Rembrandts: Untitled

Fastball: All The Pain Money Can Buy

I’ve developed allergies to ads since I’ve given up radio, but I did that to myself. Thanks, I’ll check out Amazon.

Pandora = internet radio

FoW = Fountains of Wayne = a band

Sorry, I’m a lazy typist. (keyboardist?)

I had to look up reggaeton. It’s kind of funny when you don’t know what they’re saying. a-hard-days-night-ringo-10

Pandora is pretty cool most of the time, although I’ve always wondered what song they would come up with if you typed in the Beatles….I’ll go find out.

The new thing to do is bother everybody in the train or bus hearing reggaeton very loudly from the cellphone… That makes me want to kill my ears.

The worst thing is why the name “reggaeton”? That thing is more like bad gangsta rap than reggae.

I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

Summerteeth.  That was the first song I heard by them and the reason I bought the CD.

Tell me about it!!!!  a-hard-days-night-ringo-14 That was the new trend in my city. But now with crime, everybody prefers to keep their cellphones in their pockets and earphones hidden under the shirts. I have black earphones and with my long hair nobody really notices I’m listening to music..

And actually reggaeton is nothing but sampling old good music. But kids love it.. so …

Another way to get music is checking Billboard. I check the lists there, and watch the videos in youtube. If I like the song, I get it.. That’s how I discover Goldfrapp.

This song is kind of old, but I bet most of you haven’t heard it. The guy who writes Dilbert wanted to see how hard it was to write a hit song that seems to make sense, but was really nonsense.

This was the result. a-hard-days-night-john-3

Not to sound close-minded, but I find it hard, and simply not worth trying to look for new music on tv these days. There are enough good old fashion songs to last me a life time, I don’t need new music. I’m a young guy, but I’m just not into 2010’s R&B, frankly I can leave that to the high school girls (espically the song you posted, no offense).

When I Twish And Shout, it makes the Girl say "What Goes On?", and than I say, "I do this Here, There and Everywhere", and than she finishes by saying "Honey Don't".
