i do have a fondness for the Beatles “Love” album, it sends you on a journey and i believe i mentioned on another board how i wish they would do it to thier solo stuff. but i was wondering what other band could have that same thing done. Personaly i cant think of any other than Pink Floyd. i already know how the beggining would sound “Speak To Me” (beggining of “Dark Side of The Moon” album mixed with the link between “Bring The Boys Back Home” and “Comfortably Numb” from “The Wall” all leading up to “Astronomy Domine” from “Piper At The Gates of Dawn”. there could be a mixture of “Echoes” and “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”. What bands would yall choose to “Love”.

I’ve never thought about this before, but, as you say, Floyd would be the perfect band for something like Love. I suppose you get a slight glimpse into what it might sound like with the reprise of Breathe at the start of Time on ‘Dark Side…’. I wish we had something like that now.
At the moment I can’t think of any other bands that this might work with.
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

I’m not a huge fan of Love as it is.On topic no idea. Cliff?
I LOVE Love. It’s brilliant, one of those things I can’t get too much of. It’s incredible. But to each his own.
Now, I’d love to say Nirvana (as I’m pretty obsessed nowadays), but not nearly enough stuff there.
What would be interesting would be something like a history of Rock. You start with someone like Elvis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, they’re all in there as main songs, with parts of other songs by lesser known artists thrown in. Then it progresses to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, with some Beach Boys and some other lesser known parts thrown in. Then on, through Led Zeppelin, Metallica, The Clash, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, U2, Oasis. All melded together. Could be fantastic if done right.

Pink Floyd is an obvious choice. I’d kind of like to see Bowie’s albums get the Love treatment. Personal opinions of Metallica aside, I think their back catalogue would make for an interesting album as well. Kraftwerk would work pretty well. Even if you managed to mix in some of their pre-Autobahn it could probably work.
Really, you could take just about any band with a big enough selection of well known songs and make something decent sounding out of it, I would think.
And now I’m stuck thinking of Little Richard – LoOoOoOoOoOOOOOOOVE!
Random.
