I am reading ‘The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions’ by the brilliant Mark Lewisohn.
I hope you’re enjoying it, Rube. It’s one of my favourite Beatles books.

I’m reading the not revised and updated edition of ‘Off The Record 2: The Dream Is Over’.
It’s very enjoyable to read all the interviews and press reports which vary from ludicrous rumours to Beatles interviews, many of which I’ve no memory of ever reading, if I ever did. George admitting not only that Paul was right to sue them but that he was thankful Paul did was quite a surprise. A report quoting John saying that when he bought Tittenhurst that there was no chance he’d be opening it up to the public, which a previous owner had done was, was also fun. And it’s always good to read John and George being so determined to remain themselves and not be swayed by what other people think they should be or how they were to act – the former saying he missed those who missed him (due to living in New York) whilst those who didn’t miss him could go and eat a banana.*
I generally alternate between a Beatles book and then a volume or two of ‘Peanuts’ (aka Snoopy/Charlie Brown). One day I’ll complete reading ‘The Beatles Anthology’ book but it such a massive undertaking to do it all in once.
*One of the most influential quotes I’ve ever read is John saying “It doesn’t matter about people not liking our records, or not liking the way we look, or what we say. You know, they’re entitled to not like us. And we’re entitled not to have anything to do with them if we don’t want to, or not to regard them. We’ve all got our rights, you know, Harold.” It gives me a lot of relief to have that mindset of it’s fine if someone doesn’t like me as it’s also ok for me to not have much to do with them at all.

Returning to the forum after an almost decade-long hiatus, it’s Moriz! I’m reading Crime and Punishment and Anna Karenina right now. I recently watched Barry on HBO and loved it (which is a massive understatement). After finding out that Bill Hader took inspiration from a lot of classic Russian literature, I decided to reread the ones I’ve already read and give the ones I haven’t a try. So far Crime and Punishment is much more my speed, but I’m enjoying Anna Karenina too. I got the nice leatherbound Barnes and Noble special editions. They look great on my bedside table even when I’m not reading them, hahaha.

Reading through my old back issues of CREEM magazine, which i own nearly complete (two months’ issues missing) from 1971-1988, when the magazine ceased publication. I also have a few of the original 1969 and 1970 issues of the publication in it’s earlier incarnation, when it was a large folded tabloid on cheap newsprint, instead of the stapled magazine it soon became. Those are hard to read, because the ancient-est portions of the newsprint is crumbling at the folds when pages are turned…
