If you needed a few more recommendations because you’re finished with the Young Bond series too soon, you could also read these:
Momo – Michael Ende
The Flying Classroom – Erich Kästner
The Mysterious Benedict Society – Trenton Lee Stewart
I enjoyed them all quite a lot and especially the last one is really funny. And there is no romance involved, I promise!

In the middle of Joseph Heller’s Catch 22 and enjoying it, did not expect it to be funny – “He was going to live forever, or die in the attempt.” – not a heavy read at all, but gets the message across very well. Also reading Franz Kafka’s short stories, not long finished The Metamorphosis which was great.

^Oh I love Kafka, an absolute genius!
I am a bit of an embarrassment with my reading recently, normally during exams I read really heavy or really fluffy books and at the minute I am most definitely at the fluffy end.
Currently reading
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
‘Me Before You’
‘The Feast of the Drowned’- a Doctor Who novel, I’ve read like 5 in the past month (I told you, fluffy). Best one so far has been ‘Beautiful Chaos’, really brilliant, it definitely could have been a great DW episode. Rest were alright but Beautiful Chaos was fab and sadly the only novel where Wilf is a companion.
Anyways TFotD is good enough so far. Am about 30% in according to the Kindle.

Rereading Emily St. John Mandel’s incredible Station Eleven. Cracks my top 5 favorites of all time, if not top 3. Absolutely incredible book.
My power reading of that interrupted a slower reading of Hamlet, which I am greatly enjoying. And for school, Khaled Hosseini’s A Thousand Splendid Suns, which is decent so far.

Inaccuracies are common in books, books by credible sources or even eyewitness accounts can contain inaccurate or iffy information, I can think of at least 7 false claims from books that were written by either devoted fans, credible sources, and or eyewitness accounts.
1. Ian MacDonald claims in Revolution In The Head claims that John Lennon plays an acoustic guitar on Strawberry Fields Forever , whereas in reality, although he may have used an acoustic guitar during the outro (it’s hard to tell whether it’s a piano or acoustic guitar), the “1st version” that he also claims John used an acoustic on, has no acoustic guitar on it, the guitar is an electric.
2. Ian also claims that John plays acoustic guitar on Another Girl although according to George Martin, it was George who played acoustic guitar on this song. To be fair, he was probably unaware of this fact at the time, but it still proves my point.
3. He also claims that Paul played all guitar parts on Michelle and implied that it’s possible that Paul is the only person on this song despite their being photographic evidence that proves that all 4 Beatles were there and that John and George both played acoustic guitar on the song and that George played the solo on the song. Here’s 1 of the many photos, ask me and I will show you more.
4. According to Geoff Emmerick, George plays bass on Rock And Roll Music , which is absurd because this was done in one take and George wasn’t that good at bass at the time, especially when the string order is reversed due to Paul being left handed.
5. Both Walter Everett and Kenneth Womack claim that George used his Casino on several songs from Rubber Soul and that he used his Telecaster on several songs from The Beatles despite the fact that he had neither instruments at the time.
6. Mark Lewisohn claims that Ringo plays drums on Why Don’t We Do It In The Road despite both The Beatles Book Monthly and John Lennon himself stating that Paul played drum on the song.
7. Mark Lewisohn tells Paul McCartney that he didn’t play guitar on The Ballad Of John And Yoko after Paul said he did. Regardless of whether it was Paul or Mark was wrong, someone was.

It’s been debate for years but Ringo says he played on ‘WDWDIITR’ and I’ll go with him.
Why Don’t We Do It In The Road? was just Paul and me, and it went out as a Beatle track too. We had no problems with that.

Not all original sources, ie out at the time, are correct. ‘The Beatles Book’ claims that John is the solo vocalist on ‘I’m So Tired ‘ and we know that’s incorrect as we can clearly hear Paul.

Sure, The Beatles Book Monthly makes claims that don’t seem right, such as when they claimed that Ringo sings backing vocals on Dear Prudence , but it does sound more like Paul and I take sources from the 60’s more seriously than more recent sources. Also, the song starts of with a drum solo, something Ringo would never do. Regardless, one of them is incorrect which still supports my claim that even credible sources can be wrong.

The iffy I refer to is to one particular bit. The book passes the whole “Jim Morrison showed his cock onstage” thing as absolute truth when it may or may not (but probably not) have actually happened.
To be fair, when I said inaccurate, I was probably being too harsh. I was referring to a section about backmasked messages that included only false examples. Where I was being too harsh was that the section said neither true nor false and somewhat implied false.
“…even eyewitness accounts?” Especially eyewitness accounts!
“Books” is rather vague. There are many books out there. It depends on the book and the author. Obviously stuff like Mein Kampf and The Food Babe Way are full of nonsense.

‘What You’re Doing ‘ beings with Ringo only, we get a full six seconds of Ringo before the others come in, so that’s not correct.

Looking at my 1987 copy of Derek Taylor’s “It Was 20 Years Ago Today”…I’m moving out of the apartment where I’ve lived since 2002 and it’s one of the few books I haven’t packed yet. And today’s one of the first weekend days this year when the weather’s been nice enough for me to just sit on my balcony and read with music in the background. (Remembering the many Beatlesbible posts I’ve made over the years while sitting out there with my laptop or phone…)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.
