The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by a Mr Shakespeare…
Also Understanding Perennials by another William, this one Cullina.
Yes, it’s nonfiction about gardening, but it’s very entertainingly written.

I got that book for free a while back. My friend worked at a second hand book store… They were throwing it out at the store because no one was buying it, so he just grabbed it and got it for me as an early birthday present.

After dabbing up the spewed coffee from my keyboard (it’s been a while since I’ve Zigged), may I just say “Thank You!” for being in the right place at the right time, saving this book from such a horrible fate. The mind boggles at the thought of a book store tossing a book into the trash.
…I suppose you could thank me for being a big Beatles fan, and being friends with someone who worked at the store, and making it known to that friend that I am a big Beatles fan, all which contributed to him saving the book.
I repeat – “Thank You!” for being in the right place at the right time.
As for why it was thrown out, the store is primarily a college text book store, however they sell lots of other things. They are really busy during the beginning of the semester, and then they die down a bit after the semester has begun. So the book getting thrown out could be a combination of the semester starting, and the cleaning out of old calendars, and older books that weren’t being sold. I know that wasn’t only book that was bring thrown out.
Perhaps it’s just me. Books deserve better. Donate them. Put up a sign that says “I’m free – please take me home”. Something . Anything.

I do very much agree. Especially a book like that, and it that condition. There’s no reason to throw perfectly good books out. Either give them away or them.

Checked out I Me Mine from my schools library a couple days ago and I am quite certain that their copy is actually from 1980.
I am really enjoying it thus far.

(Mainly.) Black lines, straight and expressing different variations on a curve, against a white background. (As I said, mainly.)

What was your post, @Evangeline, but “Black lines, straight and expressing different variations on a curve, against a white background”?
The most recent thing I have read.
If I were to quote you, thus:

That’s what you’re reading?
It would be “Black lines, straight and expressing different variations on a curve, against a grey background” (at least, on my laptop display!).

Wind In The Willows, by Kenneth Grahame.
I really need to buy a copy of this book, it seems like I always have it checked out and overdue from the library. (Which the librarians always complain about. )

I have to find another book to read at school and the like, but most of the books I have have been read so many times, and the ones I have and would like to read are *erm* huge and heavy.
So, I was wondering: do any of you have good suggestions as to what I should read?

I’d be more than happy to help, but you’d need to tell me what you like/dislike!

I’ve been stuck with the same Just William book for almost a year now. I’m too afraid to return it for something different in case I get a bollocking from the woman in the school library for the amount of time I’ve had it (perhaps if the librarian was @Ahhh Girl, I might have gotten away with it a long, long time ago! And maybe there would be a request for books on The Beatles too! ). I have to admit, the Just William stories are quite amusing to read over and over, and I think John once said he was a fan of them in his youth.

Hmm, well, I don’t really like romance books at all. As for what I like, I guess I’d prefer something happier, maybe.
I don’t know if I’m 100% sure of everything I do or don’t like though; I haven’t delved into too many genres as of now.

Well, maybe the Young Bond series by Charlie Higson? Basically it is a teenage James Bond. But for Young Adults/Adults.
@Ahhh Girl is more qualified than me though.
